When I first saw this movie in third grade,I kinda thought he was scary. Also,GMK was the second Godzilla movie I saw.If I would have seen it after watching other Godzilla movies,I probably wouldn't be as scared.

I really didn't ever find it scary.

Barely creepy, but mostly badass.

I think mostly why it's not viewed as scary is partly to do with the mystifying childhood wonder of dinosaurs, at least it is for me. Back in the day, they had pictures of dinosaurs like T-Rex and Allosaurus with their jaws firmly clamped on the back or neck of some hadrosaur, stegosaur, triceratops, or other large sauropod, with maybe a little red around the bite area to indicate blood loss in the herbivore. It was not until I saw an illustration of a Deinonychus with it's sickle claw actually tearing at the belly of a galamimus, effectively eviscerating it right there on the page, that it connected that dinosaurs were very capable of killing things in the most gruesome of ways.

So I think just about any Godzilla could be scary if it was framed in the right perspective, say stepping on a cluster of automobiles for example. With the human occupants clearly visible inside, screaming, and then seeing a fountain of red shortly after, like stepping on a tomato can, I think that would be scary.

Or seen from a distance out in the ocean, a big shadow rising from the water, hardly moving at all, but getting bigger, getting closer to the perspective of the viewer. Then imagine a flurry of rockets pelting the seemingly monolithic being, covering it in an immense cloud. Now it shows through the cloud, larger and closer than ever, close enough that you can see what looks like a twisted version of a human grin playing across its face.

As for GMK's version of the suit, I think it looks like a more realized Godzilla VS Mothra suit, right down to the wagging upper lip as it is about to nuke Tachibana's kid and her friened. The only things that I don't find intimidating are the toes and the working of the jaws. The toes look way too blunt when they are shown up close, kicking Baragon, and the bottom jaw is much too hinge like in the suit. I cannot really picture GMK Goji biting anything with it realistically, and the teeth look unnaturally squared when compared to the rounding of the monster's face.

Other than that, I like how the suit successfully obscures the human shape, making Godzilla appear more dinosaur-like in the arm and leg proportion, possibly doing it better than Heisei Godzilla's incarnation. The neck also adds to this, but that can be said about every suit.

Did GMK Godzilla scare me? No. Only Hedorah & the original Meganulons ever frightened me (& they don't anymore).

However, Sokogecki-Goji is pretty intimidating at times:

I like a lot of the aspects of the GMK face, interesting experiment to give him all white eyes, tho I still thing the BIOGOJI suit is way more intimidating with it's near black eyes ( wich also look more natural) I NEVER liked the body design on the GMK suit, with those tiny pecs and " beer gut" it reminds me a lot of 70's marvel comics or other American Godzilla art from back in the day, wich always bothered me.

I must say that this picture is far scarier than the actual GMK Godzilla. Good work.

I know it's really weird, but GMK Godzilla oddly reminds me of Pumpkinhead, the demon from the 1988 horror movie. I don't know why.

I kinda see what you mean, maybe its those white eyes. Anyway, the GMK Godzilla isn't scary, except for when your a little kid like in the picture. My only problem with the suit, is they gave him too much of a potbelly.
