I don't care what they call it I just want to know who the villian is and I'd prefer that villian be The Lizard.

I'm pretty sure Lizard is the official villain.

Wasn't he one of the things that Sony wouldn't let Raimi do with Spider-man 4 in the first place?

But Raimi has nothing to do with this movie, and Lizard is one of Spider-Man's most popular foes. And not to mention that Sony wants a new start for the series.

Sony still is. They are the ones that had issues with the Lizard being a part of this film.

I could see Lizard being in the movie, but the way Raimi seemed to be setting him up, I think I would've liked that better.

I'm calling Kingpin and Tombstone.

If they are going to use Lizard in the first movie. I wouldn't be surprised if they use villains as Electro, Scorpion or Rhino will appear in the sequels to keep things fresh.

To me, Rhino isnt a villan you base a movie around. The guy robs banks for what? He's just the muscle for someone else, simple as that. Electro would be cool, but I cant see the Scorpion. Mysterio would be pretty awesome to see actually.

I would actually love to see a film involving Spider-man taking on a gang which employs super villains like Electro or Mysterio. Sort of similar to how the gangwar was portrayed in Spectacular.

Since the new SM movies are based of the Ultimate comics then Rhino could work for a sequel. Rhino in the Ultimate comics is huge, and having Spidey fight someone who is pure muscle could work on film.

This.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. Except, I cant see Mysterio being a lacky. I dont know why, but to me Mysterio needs to get more props.

Naahhh. Rhino in the Ultimate comics was a punk with a super suit. He looked cool, but did nothing for the story at all. Trust me. Rhino is and should always be strictly the hired help.

But cause he looks cool doesnt mean he is cool. Lets say they played him as a mob boss type. Do you really think he'd need henchmen? He's got a freaking steel suit with giant freaking horns.....
See what I mean. It's kinda lame.

or they could use the sandman idea...

he could be a simple man that is doing the wrong things for the right reasons. he uses the suit to rob someplace HUGE...

and spiderman comes in and defeats him... that lands him in jail. where he escapes... improves the suit... and him and spiderman have a huge battle until rhino dies...

i think it would be cool

I think it would be already done.
Rhino is just not a good character to base a whole movie around.

I can see Rhino being a side villain in a movie. I doubt we will see Gobin again unless they do something new with him.

Won't be Kingpin since he's licensed out to Fox.

Build him up during the course of the series. Introduce Norman Osborn in the first film, and establish his relationships with Peter and Harry. Like how they used him in Spectacular Spider Man.
