Evanescence

Well, I've been a fan of Evanescence ever since I first heard "Bring Me To Life" way back in Daredevil. Their music is great, and Amy Lee's voice is just downright amazing. I can't wait for their next CD. It's supposedly coming out this year, though I've heard it may be delayed.

Does anyone else here like them/listen to them? What's your favorite song of theirs?

Evanescence is definitely one of my favorite female fronted bands and I do enjoy most of their songs. However, the band called Within Temptation I feel is even better! They are from The Netherlands and still haven't made it big in America yet. But they are huge in just about every other country. And they even existed BEFORE Evanescence did. Sharon Den Adel of Within Temptation is my top favorite female vocalist in the rock music genre. For the unfortunate souls who don't know Within Temptation yet....here ya go. ;)

I've kind of recently fully embraced my nerd routes and gone full soundtracks... however, back when my tastes were more normal I used to love Evanescence. They were one of my favorite groups... in fact, most of my favorites are found in FlawedCoil82's signature (save the exclusion of Nirvana).

Why no Nightwish in that signature? They are my favorite band. (if anyone cares) hahaha

Sir, my tastes were never normal and recently I have been listening to many different scores, but i actually kind of "rediscovered" Evanescence. Amy Lee is a great composer and can't wait to see what will happen with the next album. We Are The Fallen are great, but seem more of a copy of Evanescence, which is totally fine with me. If it sounds good, it is good

Nightwish isn't in my signature because I don't like Tarja's over-the-top vocal style. That "opera" sounding voice just doesn't mix right with the Nightwish sound for my ears. I much prefer the new Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon. Having said that, I do still love alot of the music in older Nightwish.

I never like them, I did like that one song that they did for the "Daredevil" soundtrack several years ago though.

So, apparently I missed something, because at some point things went from "Evanescence is taking forever with their next album and who knows when it'll come out" to "Evanescence's new album comes out in 20 days."

Also, here's the video for one of their new songs, What You Want: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wVWazHTunSI&ob=av2e

This band has always been kind of bland in my opinion. only song i like is "Brig Me To Life".
I also think Amy Lee is full of herself.

I prefer Skillet. Same type of sound, better amount of singles worth listening to.

So, I saw them in concert in Oakland the other night. It was great. Was fairly close and had a good view, and Amy was amazing as always.

Thankfully, the drunk guy shouting "WHERE ARE YOU AMY LEE, MAH NEXT BABY MAMA?!" couldn't be heard once the music started. :roll:

I picked up their new album yesterday. A massive improvement over the Open Door but not as memorable as Fallen.

Still, get the deluxe version. Secret Door is amazing. It would fit right at home on Fallen.

Evanescence=Overrated.

That's all I've really got to say on the subject. So much wasted potential.
