Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

Postby mecha-gino » Thu Oct 06, 2011 11:25 am

Well it looks like we're getting a new transformers game next year, being a sequel to war for cybertron and all I've gotta say is this.

Dinobots, Grimlock specifically... I came!

Here's a link to some artwork connected to it.

I've heard a lot of great things about War for Cybertron, and I will be getting it for Christmas and surely will enjoy the grand experience. I'll be keeping an eye out for this game as well.

War for Cybertron is around $30 or $35 now. By next year then it might be Greatest Hits and Platinum Hits title soon, it's a good game. I hope they will fix the terrible online that the first game had like the bad host migration and the annoying servers.

I hope Frank Welker returns as Megatron. I hear that he did not voice Megatron in the first game?

Might pick this up along with War for Cybertron. At the time War for Cybertron came out all I had was the Wii, so all I could get was Cybertron Adventures, and well...... yeah. So if I'm feeling like it, I'll pick up both.

Nope, and the guy who did, Fred Tatasciore, is a great voice actor who did a fine job.

Got my copy of Game Informer with Prime and Grimlock on the cover. Here's some of the details so far:

1. Its just gonna be one interwoven storyline this time. They're not doing a Decepticon story mode and Autobot story mode like the previous game. You start off as the Autobots, then you play as the Decepticons during the middle of the story and back to the Autobots at the end of the game.

2. Each character is suppose to have some sort of special ability like Jazz is able to use grappling hooks to get from place to place, Cliffjumper can go invisible, Vortex combining into Bruticus, etc.

3. No Co-Op campaign, only single player.

4. Metroplex is in the game and is about 2 or 3 times bigger than Omega Supreme. Not sure if playable but I hope he is.

4. New weapons like the Gear Shredder that fires circular blades that dismember enemies, the Scatter Blaster which is a shotgun that lights opponents aflame, the Tech Volt Emitter which fires a continous laser beam, and the Energon Harvester which does little damage but heals its user with each hit.

5. You get to upgrade your weaponry. Megatron's final upgrade for his gun is basically a mini nuke at the end of every clip and Prime's rifle can shoot through walls.

5. Bruticus shoots flames from his right hand and uses the helicopter blades on his left hand as a shield. He also has a special ability (I'm a bit confuzzled on it though). One of his components, Vortex, has the ability to create shockwaves every time he lands on the ground.

6. The Insecticons are in the game.

7. Grimlock cannot transform at will. In order to transform into T-Rex mode, you must kill several enemies first. He can breathe fire, bite people, smash them with his tail or feet when in T-Rex mode. He wields a shield and sword when in Robot mode.

8. There will be alot more character customization in multiplayer. Each body part you customize affects your character's speed, shielding, etc. You can even pick your character's voice.

No Co-Op, damn that sucks. The Co-Op in the last game was really fun and I was hoping that they will add that in the new game.

LOVE the additions to multiplayer customization. I didnt like being a grey Megatron clone =\

The Scatter Blaster is in WFC, though it doesn't set enemies on fire. The Energon Harvester sounds like it's just a renamed Energon Repair Ray from WFC.

The Gear Shredder sounds immensely fun.

YES. That was my biggest complaint about WFC's multiplayer. 1-2 body types per side for each class was pretty lame.

In article in GI that explains the origins of the Dinobots. It states that Shockwave captured Grimlock and experiments using data gathered from prehistoric Earth.

This game looks like it's gonna be even better than WfC.

But... the co-op of the campaign in WfC wasn't very good, anyway. It was online co-op, remember? Two people couldn't play on the same system at the same time.

That's what I meant. I wanted to play with peers on the campaign, but it looks like that ain't happening cause of a better story. Having a good story & co-op is not hard at all, for example look at Gears
