Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995)

The humans in this film were thinking about their survival. They even wanted the scientist to build an oxygen destroyer at one point. When confronted with two threats-one that could cause another Hiroshima, and one that will kill the world- they acted as any government would. They put the lives of the people first.

I agree with therealmccoy, I understand why they did it, but i think the plot made it seem like they were jumping around on what they wanted to do

Personally, I'm more interested in how nonchalant every single character is about Godzilla's meltdown throughout the film.

For most of the film, everyone in the film believes that Godzilla's destruction is going to be the end of the world...and yet everyone just shrugs it off like nothing is happening. This ruins the film for me. That not only is nobody affected by learning that Godzilla is dying, or that all life on earth could be dead soon. Everyone just goes about their lives like nothing else is new.

If you're going to make a film where Godzilla is going to die, at least have the main cast of characters show some concern for Godzilla, or at least the world. Sure, they start to show concern as he's dying, but that's too little, too late. Make the characters tremble with fear as they perform simple tasks, have them discuss the possible end of the world, let them break down in cold sweat during simple discussions. It really wouldn't have been too hard to do it either.

I can't really see any reason to care for characters that just shrug off the end of the world like it was a fly buzzing around the room. And if I don't care about the characters, I don't care about what's going on in the film at all.

^ lol. The characters were the least interesting, lively things in the movie. But oddly enough, Miki wasn't annoying this time around.

People use everything to their advantage. The environment, technology, each other (most of the time), and, if they could, giant monsters. I'll admit that this manipulative nature is one reason why I refuse to put my trust in anyone. Heck, I really don't want to interact with people when I know they can/will manipulate me like that. But in this case, it was for the good of mankind.

It's not like Destoroyah or Godzilla were nice guys or anything.

Normally that would be a good thing but here I actually wish she was still annoying because at least then she'd actually seem somewhat lively instead of a 2D card bored cut out.
