I find it dumb too, It's like saying that "caricatura" is not the same as "cartoon" which would happen to be pretty much the same as "anime", same thing, different language, that's all.

I always enjoy comic book movies that are ludicrously faithful to their source:

10. Kick Ass. Loved it but never read the comic. Ramos's style makes my eyes bleed...
9. Watchmen. Just as bleak and cynical as its source. And remarkably faithful... Squid aside.
8. 300. Pure stylish action. The translation is VERY Frank Miller.
7. Sin City. So faithful it's scary. Sometimes to its detriment. A work of art.
6. X2. We get Wolverine doing what he does best... Slashing the shit out of nameless, faceless soldiers. Worth the price of admission by itself.
5. Batman. Though I'm not a fan of Keaton as Wayne lookswise, his acting more than makes up for it. Jack Nicholson's hammy chaos steals the show, though.
4. Spiderman 2. It was everything the first wasn't... And consistently awesome throughout. Alfred Molina IS Otto Octavius.
3. Iron Man. Start to finish, this was an exciting and excellent effort. The fight with Iron Monger at the end is worth the price of admission alone.
2. The Dark Knight. What can be said about this movie that hasn't been said before? Art.
1. Thor. Hands down my favorite comic book film ever. And I'm not a Thor fan at all. I was actually fooled by Loki at one point when he triplecrossed. You know what I'm talking about. Pure awesome. Also, it tied in with the Marvel Movieverse nicely, while not coming off as a commercial for The Avengers (like Iron Man 2). It was its own movie.

I honestly have never really been a big superhero fan, but Spider-Man 2 is just tops for me. Great movie all around.

Umm... None of those are really a superhero or comic book film. I mean, maybe ROTF but that's only because it has a character from the comics and that's about it. >.>

The Bay TF films have more in common with the comics then the toon.

Maybe this is relevant to bump, or maybe I should've waited until July's The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises.

Until the event that either of them manage to make the cut ...

1) The Avengers
2) Watchmen
3) The Dark Knight
4) Thor
5) Batman Begins
6) The Dark Knight Rises
7) Iron Man
8) Iron Man 2
9) Captain America: The First Avenger
10) The Incredible Hulk

I realize that seems lazy since they're all contemporary movies, but that's how I feel I guess lol.

The Spawn movie was alright. It's not awful but it's not very good neither. I do find it as a guilty pleasure but I would never put it on any top 10 best or favorite movie list.

Post-Avengers, my top ten stayed exactly the same. Avengers didn't even crack my top ten Marvel films, so top ten comic films wasn't in the cards.

The Dark Knight Rises is a possibility, seeing how the only reason Batman Begins didn't make the list was that I enjoyed the Mask just a tad more (also barely missing the cut just behind it were Men in Black and the original X-Men). If it's better than Begins, it has a shot. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get into the trailers they've released, so I'm under the impression that it will be the least of the three. But I don't give up on my hope for Nolan that easily.

The Amazing Spider-Man is a push. Unlike TDKR, I've found every trailer for this movie wildly fun. I'm not sure what type of movie will result though, but I have hopes it will be good.

No mention of The Shadow? That film is nothing but a battle of large hams.

You got problems with '94?

I saw the mystery men the other day, it was pretty funny. Captain Furious and the Blue Raja. Wasn't it based on a comic?

I only asked because your avatar comes from that movie. Your name seems to be related too...

Don't know why you hate 1994 when it was a fantastic year for films. Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, Hoop Dreams, Ed Wood, the finale to the Colors Trilogy (Red), just to name a few. Probably the best year for movies from the '90s.

...because 1994 was during the transition between goofy Batman and serious superhero films.

1994 seems to be hit or miss as well since 1994 give us a lot of shitty movies too like Blue Chips, Color of Night, Double Dragon, Junior, Neverending Story III, North, On Deadly Ground, The Specialist, Star Trek Generations, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4: The Next Generation, and Wyatt Earp. 1990, 1991, 1992, 1995 and 1999 seem to be the best years of US cinema in the 90's in my opinion.
