I've refrained from doing the worst of thread because I couldn't put together a list to my satisfaction (plus a couple of entries on it would definitely stir some shit up). And it's a wataru thread, and I do enjoy ignoring those.

This one is a bit easier, so I'll join in!

1. Spider-Man 2

Just love every minute of it. Has an old school charm crossed with a modern edginess, making it exhilerating from start to finish.

2. Death Note: The Last Name

This battle of wits between Light and L kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The original is good too, but unfortunately didn't make the cut.

3. Daredevil

One of the most underrated films ever made. A rather well told story of a superhero who went out to save the city but wound up saving his soul. Unfortunately, the cartoonish special effects and over-the-top performances do the film no favors.

4. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Quite possibly the defining film of my generation. There's a certain understanding of the mentality of a liflong gamer at work here, and Edgar Wright jumps from independent comedy to visualist with the greatest of ease.

Still don't like Michael Cera, though.

5. Thor

I'm not a Thor fan, but I fell in love with the mythology at work on film. Bravo to Kenneth Branagh for turning something so bland into something exciting. Bravo to Chris Hemsworth for proving to be the most perfect casting choice for a superhero role since Christopher Reeve donned the Superman tights (save for maybe Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man). Definitely the best of the Mravel Cinematic Universe, and honestly, out of all the superhero movies that are promised in the future, I'm the most amped up for Thor 2 (though Avengers is sounding mighty tasty).

6. Spider-Man 3

Probably the most controversial entry on this list, and while I certainly understand where the points of negativity are coming from, I get into the movie too much for me to hate. A lot of aspects of theproduction are more Sam Raimi fueled than we've seen in any other Spider-Man film, which makes for a wild mash of unconventional ideas that don't always work, but when they do, they're wildly fun.

7. The Dark Knight

Marvel's going to dominate this list, but my favorite DC outing thusfar is Christopher Nolan's pristine entry into the Batman saga. The philisophical nature of the script is ingenius and Ledger's performance as the Joker, while not where I would have liked to see the character entirely, successfully captures his escence in a way that very few have been able to.

8. Spider-Man

Used to be my favorite, but has fallen from grace somewhat as it's cracks begin to show with age. It's still a quirky and entertaining superhero ride that I enjoy taking.

9. The Incredible Hulk

Edward Norton is briliantly cast (too bad he'll never reprise the role) in this exciting chase movie inspired by the 70's Bill Bixby seriex crossed with Jason Bourne. The final battle between the Hulk and Abomination is a knockout. The future of this franchise may be in jeopardy, but hopefully interest in the Avengers can breath new life into it.

10. The Mask

While not all that faithful to the comic it was based upon, as a vehicle for Jim Carrey, you couldn't ask for better (save maybe Liar Liar). The special effects are truly special giving life to this real world cartoon.

Nice to see a fellow Daredevil fan on here :D while I do agree that some of the acting was a little over the top but it didn't matter to me as it was very enjoyable

Alas, I've learned to keep my fanhood of the film to myself usually, because the eyerolls get tiresome. But after nearly a decade, I've found that I enjoy the film just as much today as I did when it came out, so it muat have done something right.

2. Death Note: The Last Name

I don't think that counts since it's based off of a manga?

Different art/genre style, same concept. I always hate it when people say Manga and comics are different, they're the same God Damn thing!

I'll post a list in a little while later.

Exactly. It's like saying anime isn't a cartoon because it's Japanese.
