GRAFFITI FILMS - My film projects

Postby omgitsgodzilla » Tue Sep 20, 2011 3:15 pm

For those who don't know, I'm rather into filmmaking. I don't actually have a studio per se, but I typically show what I make under the label "Graffiti Films." Anyway, I'm opening this thread to keep you posted about some projects of mine.
Firstly, I'm working on a Halo: Reach machinima. It's got its own plot and setting, disconnected entirely from the game itself. It's about a war between humans and an alien race some time into the future. It will probably be the first of multiple such projects set in the same universe but not necessarily following the same storyline or characters.
Secondly, I'm currently writing a sort of post-apocalyptic zombie comedy. All I know right now is it centers on two guys living life as usual as much as possible shortly after a zombie apocalypse. What happens or who they might meet, I don't know yet. I don't even have a title.
Also, to ease production a little, I'm planning to start a filmmaking club at my high school once I'm finished with marching band season. I'm not sure what all I'll be doing there. Comments and suggestions are welcome.

If your school requires a teacher's room and endorsement to start a club like mine did, you should pick the journalism teacher. It'll be the right atmosphere plus most students who want to take film usually take journalism since it's the closest thing they can get to it, therefore the teacher is usually more open to the club. The best advice I can give you on what to do in the club is make sure everyone working on the project is doing what they love best. The actor(s), the director, the camera guy, the editor, the special effects guy, etc. Then will not only everyone get a chance to practice the skills they enjoy most, but everyone will have fun in the process. Good luck with your film projects! And sorry if some of this advice was obvious :P
You know, Darth Vader cannot be Luke Skywalker's father. They don't have the same last name.

Thanks for the advice. I'll certainly keep it in mind :)

Update: In addition to the projects above, I've also begun writing an adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic "The War of the Worlds."
