Ya know... being friends with a more hardcore gamer, I noticed that there seems to be a popular thing going around in which people record their game play with commentary. Has anyone here done any of that or tried? Ya know... stuff like this:

Living Corpse has made a LP of Super Godzilla. I haven't finished it because Youtube hates me right now. Stupid lag... :(

I actualy love watching LPs but there's definatly a right and wrong way to do it. A good LPer MUST have good knowledge of the game they're LPing and by that I don't mean knowing what the buttons do I mean knowing how to actualy play the game and the story of the game unless they do it blind in which case they should at least say that's whats going on. They also need to be genuienly entertaining most of the time I see people trying to hard to be funny and just making an ass of themselves and it's just stupid. Last it really isn't an LP if it's just two people fighting eachother in a fighting game unless it's in story mode but even then it really doesn't work. An LP should be of a game that has a story and the person playing through it and explaining what happens as they go and how to do things not just being like ok I'm playing a game and watch me play it that to me is not a Let's Play because it's just watching people play a game. This is just my opinion however but I just don't like when people pop in a fighting game and just play random matches and don't even explain controls or anything that makes it remotly an LP and then just slap the title "Let's Play" on it just to get more views.

If anyone on Machinima did a Lets Play for any of the Godzilla games they would probably be kicked out.

Well if they did DAMM STE or Unleashed then possibly I guess because the game play is very repetitve no matter what you do however, if someone did say Godzilla Generations or something like that they'd probably get away with it.

Not quite sure where to post this. (DAMM gameplay)

I apparently recorded this a couple of years ago and I just found the DVD with it on. Figured here was as good of a place as any to post it.

A few video clip suggestions?

Postby Mr. Strange » Sat Jun 02, 2012 11:54 am

I'm looking for a few brief video moments to show off the best of the past games I've done:

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee
Godzilla: Save the Earth
Rampage: Total Destruction
Godzilla: Unleashed

I'd appreciate it if everyone took a moment to share which video clips (on youtube) they think are the most exciting - show off the games the best - etc.

Well, this should be fairly easy. Most videos of these games have interesting moments that are pretty awesome. I'll see if I can find them again and perhaps make a small video showcasing them instead of just posting links.

Please do NOT make a video showcasing the best moments - links to the root videos would be much more useful from an editing standpoint!

Here are a few I'm liking thus far:

Are you allowed to use any promotional material from the official Atari trailers?

If so, this was always my favorite StE trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp1Vqu47mlI

This was probably the best Unleashed trailer. It features the most monsters. I couldn't believe my eyes when this came out:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRao6DJGXOk

Extremely well done G:U gameplay tribute to Final Wars:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJ-Ljp_ODLA

This showcases some great 4-player Unleashed footage, it was a TK exclusive:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xwav2SOK_t0&feature=plcp

This features some great footage and alternate camera angles of G2000 fighting Destroyah in the very atmospheric Seattle lava stage:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdhKmcE2W5E&feature=relmfu

Some more good footage and alternate camera angles of G2000 vs. Jet Jaguar in Sydney:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlKRnhJ7n5g

G2000 vs. King Caesar in Sydney with alternate angles:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47JW7v8hNCI

Here are those great animated cards from the Unleashed site along with masterfully done sound effects:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0b_4kIbcdPQ

I always thought this StE opening cinematic was well done too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yLzCa1eHRPk

Here's lots of monsters in Critical Mass:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqLS0Jd971g

This is more for nostalgia's sake, the first gameplay video ever released of Unleashed:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yLqRgO8Vew&feature=fvwrel

EDIT:
The DAMM intro was cool too:

Let's Cheat Ep2: The Godzilla Brothers Challenge

Postby Living Corpse » Sat Sep 29, 2012 8:19 pm

Rules: All Three Godzilla's must be on a team. It must be on hard mode. Anything goes.

Normally hard to beat a rather easy way to deal with them is to use someone who can dig underground and pick the Seattle level and go into the lava.

LC Longplays: Super Godzilla (U.S. and JP Differences)

Postby Living Corpse » Sat Sep 29, 2012 8:31 pm

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEtl8K3nbHQ

Hey guys, I got the Japanese version of Super Godzilla imported and decided to show off the differences between the games, as well as the different paths you can take in both. I figured you all might enjoy this.

NOTE:

-Stages are done with the U.S. Version, exception being the two final Tokyo stages.

-Bosses are done with the Japanese Version exception being the Level Two boss, the Level Two boss is done with both since they are different in each version.

- I'm showing off cutscense and dialog from both versions so anyone who speaks either language can enjoy the plot of the game, so be ready to see the same scenes twice.

- I'm showing all the multiple paths (I.E. fight MKG as Normal or Super Godzilla, fight Bagan as normal Godzilla until the Super-X 1 shows up or turn into SG before fighting Bagan , fight KG at street or Osaka Castle, destroy Battra Cocoon before it hatches or arrive too late) so be ready for the same scene twice.

- I might be silent or quite for some of the footage but loud and excited the rest, please keep in mind the U.S. footage was done when I was fully awake in the day time and the JP footage was done late at night when I was half asleep and that I had already played both games twice each and by that point I was exhausted.

With Toho giving WB and Legendary Pictures permission to make a Godzilla remake in 2014 (Godzilla's 60th anniversary) I figured I'd play some of my Godzilla games while waiting. In this longplay I'm gonna go through all the differences between the U.S. and JP versions of the game and show all possible plot related paths you can take.

Paths A and B:
King Ghidorah A Streets at 0:06:45
King Ghidroah B Osaka Castle at 0:07:43
The aliens Earth base in the Biollante stage is random on each playthrough so I didn't bother recording it.
Battra Cocoon Path A at 1:12:21
Battra Cocoon Path B at 1:16:42
Mecha-King Ghidorah and Bagan Path A at 1:30:55
Mecha-King Ghidorah and Bagan Path B at 2:08:07

U.S. and JP Differences:
U.S. opening at 0:00:23
JP opening at 0:02:24
U.S. Mechagodzilla Showa at 0:21:01
JP Mechagodzilla Heisei at 0:29:27
JP Super Godzilla head crest at 1:34:51
U.S. Super Godzilla had his crest removed at 1:35:38
JP Large image they kept the crest on the Navel Beams and U.S. little image they removed the crest on the Navel Beams at 1:49:25

Cameos:
Super-X 2 at 0:01:32 and 2:44:09
Super-X 1 at 1:59:54

Bagan's Force Field at 2:31:08

UMBRELLA! 2:48:34

Sorry your monster never got used :( 2:48:50

When you read the dialogue, you should've had everyone use the "Godziller" pronunciation to complete the Heisei atmosphere. If you have the resources, you should totally follow up with a Godzilla 2 LP.

Finally!

Yeah I should have, I also should have used "TEH ENGINE ROOM IZ ON FIRAH!" when I beat Mechagodzilla.

That horn katana is cheep as hell! Because of this, I hate playing against Destoroyah. Hopefully this problem will be fixed in Kaiju Combat. By the way, anyone know when the Kickstarter is going live?
