Obscure Monster Poll

There are many classic Toho creations who haven't reappeared in any way, shape or form since the Showa era. Who would you like to see return from the original timeline? Who DON'T you want to see back?

Already quite sure who the winners will be, but still.

I want to see Dogora return. He's just so out of the norm. Honestly, I'm surprised that hasn't been a Dogora vs Godzilla yet.

I don't really want to see Jet Jaguar or Megalon.

I would like to see Varan most of all, however Gorosaurus wouldn't be bad if he reappeared.

I may sound weird, but I wouldn't mind Gezora, but ONLY if they made her with CGI this time. I have nothing against suitanimation in general, but it works well only with roughly humanoid kaiju. A squid-based kaiju should make use of CGI instead.

Megalon and Dogora. Both have some great potential for a foe for Godzilla.

I voted for Gorosaurus, but it's really more of a tie between him and Dogora for me. I love the dinosaur characters, and wish we could see more of them than the truly gaudy and off-the-wall kaiju. At the same time, Dogora is just so different from any sort of monsters, and the imagery of those ghostly tentacles decending from the clouds is so striking and eerie, that I can't help but like him and want to see a return.

I've never seen Gorath, so I can't speak for Maguma, but there's several on that list I would like to see again. Hell, all of them, pretty much.

Megalon should have been in FINAL WARS anyway, but frankly, I'm kind of glad he didn't..

He has mana beams. They were just never shown in the movie. It's the excuse I used when someone in the FMs a long time ago tried to argue that things that happened in scenes cut from the film were valid. Not being in the film equals didn't happen, so I pointed out that I could say things about any kaiju and not be able to be proved wrong because it "just wasn't in the film." I am also amused by the image of Gezora firing off 8-10 mana beams at the same time.

Megalon, he's a pretty cool dude.
His big shell like back is visually appealing like mothra wings. Shiny metallic drill arms, cool bug mouth, with a wicked horn to boot. I always thought Battra was inspired from megalon a bit. The head at least.
