Sheesh, when you post it like that, it almost looks like Godzilla's trying to create a bulge in between his legs.

Thanks for posting those pictures here, and in the other thread, that clears it up for me now. It atleast helps me understand why it ended up the way it did, with man-in-suit limitations. I wish they could have made the film with the first look. And lol, at the second quote.

I think he should have kept Final wars. If not, at least Godzilla 2000. Those two were the best!

It looks like the "potbelly" appearance was probably a direct result of the change in posture. He stands up straighter, all the mass gets pulled up and forward while the chest leans back.

G2K/Megaguirus suit. I love the reptilian look of it and the overly jagged spines. Second place is definitely the GMK suit.

and if it weren't for the pissed off rat/opossum face that FW Godzilla has I'd like that suit a lot more.

Like em all, but GXM/SOS is my favorite. Takes the badass reptilian/hard scaled look of the G2K design and tweaks it to what, in my opinion, is a leaner, meaner, and more awesome looking Godzilla.

G2K/Megaguirus Godzilla is my choice. Though I prefer the more traditional colors of skin and beam, the suit is just so rad that I can't resist it. Like the '62 Goji, which I have come to appreciate much more, this one is reptilian and bulky without being bloated. Among my favorites.

GMK is a close runner-up. skreeonk yeah, dinosaurs.

I was much more impressed with the Final Wars Godzilla when I first saw it, but I still think it's a respectable interpretation of the character. The face doesn't bother me nearly as much as it seems to bother a lot of you, but he just seems too lean, ya know?

The Kiryu Gojis are all right, I guess. They take the concept of Mire Goji and kind of flub the details.
Now it's dark...

GFW did a great job of capturing the old towering look that he had in his early Showa years, while blending some of the modern edge of G2K and even a little Heisei Godzilla. That probably is my second favorite suit (only behind MvG Goji...he pwns all)

Final Wars. It's the most true to his character I think. Although I really do like 1999's suit.

I love all of them except GMK (the design was cool but the execution... meh), but I voted Final Wars as my favorite. I despise the movie, but I love that Godzilla design for some reason. I honestly don't see the rat similarities at all, he looks like an Oriental dragon as far as I'm concered. Just an awesome suit IMHO.

GMK because it resembles the heisei with the spines and colour but updates it nicely with a more dinosaurian aggresive looking head and the eyes were an awesome touch. A close second would be 2000 though it just looks really well made and proportioned.

I feel the Godzilla 2000 suit is perfection for the characters design, while the changes they made to it for the next Movie made it really hard to look into his face, it was to skinny.

The GMK suit I feel had potential but fell flat. I think the problem comes from the suit being 7 ft tall.

The Kiryu suit is the most of the series in my opinion, his face, my Goodness, he looks dumb, especially when he roars during close ups.

FW suit I liked, it was more Showa like then the rest, which fit with the film.

I really liked the G2K and GMK versions. Both seemed really retro to me (expressive eyes in the G2K version, even with the "extreme" spikes).

I didn't feel the G2K design was "retro" at all, considering it's such a departure from every Godzilla we had seen before, which is part of why I'm not a big fan of it (The snaggle-toothed mouth look just doesn't work for me; I think it looks ridiculous). The retro title would probably go to the GMK Godzilla (IMO), if anything.

Tokyo SOS Godzilla all the way! The chest scar made him look even more badass than he did in Godzilla X Mechagodzilla (Kiryu)!

I always thought the slimmer body and the big eyes (especially compared to the Heisei suits) and the evil-eye brow were evocative of the '64 suit (my personal fav, and part of the reason I liked the G2K verion). Not as old-school as GMK, obviously, but with some of the Showa-flavor thrown back into the mix.

The jagged skin texture, colouration, and wavy spines are a pretty aggressive design in comparision to everything that proceeded it. It's very effective in being the "21st Century Godzilla; fresh and edgy and modern!". GMK Goji is a much more modestly designed incarnation and more reminiscent of the older looks.

That's an interesting observation, and actually, I agree with you on the "evil-eye brow" look. I think it's the mouth that just kills it for me. It reminds me of a crocodile's, and just looks so over the top. It's just one of those things I can't get over I suppose. It also probably doesn't help that I'm not fond of either G2K or GxM. :?

We should call him AsymetriGoji. Seriously, the jagged spines, crooked teeth...it's kind of that suit's gimmick. I still like the design overall, though.
