Dream Toy Wave

Postby JVM » Sat Sep 03, 2011 11:03 pm

Pretty simple. What's your dream wave? Pretty much anything goes - just stick to the average wave # per company. If you can't find an average, just go with the magic number, which is going to be four, since that seems to be the average for Bandai's standard 8" lines and Bandai Creation's 6.5" figure line, though I'm sure a collector is going to come in and correct me.

No reissues. Re-molds, rescales, are okay though.

So yes, what monsters/vehicles/etc. would you like to see?

So this is like make your own toy wave? Sure! (I'll go with 5)
All are 6 inch scale (except for the last one).
1. Roaring Godzilla with firing Atomic Ray!
2. Mechagodzilla with snap-on Missile launchers! Comes with miniature Maser tank!
3. King Ghidorah with 3 snap-on gravity bolts!
4. Rodan with wing-flapping action!
5. Battle set! 3 inch scale Godzilla vs Mothra Imago and 1 larva in Tokyo! Comes with 2 tanks, and 4 buildings including Tokyo Tower and the Diet Building!

All right, let's give this a shot. I'm going to make this a Marmit line because the kaiju have accessories, which I don't think Bandai does really. I guess the paint jobs I'm imagining are more in the Bandai style, so... think of it as either company you prefer I guess. xD

1. Magnetic Godzilla '74 - Godzilla bloodied from battle with MechaG, with paint job highlighting that magnetic pulse he does and some of those electrical towers or whatever that he pulls in with his magnetism.
2. Ohayou Gozaimasu King Seesar - King Seesar with (removable?) island sleeping chamber and that island girl who sings the song, kneeling in her prayer position (giggidy).
3. Force Field Mechagodzilla '74 - pretty simple. MechaG with translucent force field that can be placed over him, like in the movie.
4. Two figure set! (bending the rules skreeonk yeah) - Bloody-jawed Anguirus and Fake Godzilla with exposed metal interior (... resculpt!).

I think you can guess the theme here.
Now it's dark...

Im not a huge fan of the 6'' line. I want Bandai to go back to the 8'' line. But Im odd... I want some never before seen stuff..

What I'd Like:

Series 1:
1.) 3-pc mecha vinyl set: Supaa X, Supaa X2 and Supaa XIII
2.) Bio-Goji (new mold) w/closed mouth
3.) Bio-Goji (new mold) w/open mouth
4.) Flying/Spinning G:GOTU Gamera
5.) Artwork style Destoroyah (boxed)

Series 2:
1.) Gaira and Sandra 2-pack
2.) New Godzillasaurus mold
3.) Millenium Alien w/UFO
4.) Prehistoric Mothra Larva (one came with ROM3 Mothra but it was small)
5.) Flying Irys (boxed)

Sandy Frank dubs. All others are fail.

Ah yeah, I'd like the Super X and Bio-Goji as well. And how about a new Biollante sculpt?!?

I'm going to steal/modify wataru's good ideas and create a second dream line, 8" Bandai (I'll take 6" if that's all they want to do...)
1. Bio Goji (new mold) with Super X 2 (fire mirrors displayed)
2. Biollante Rose form
3. Biollante final form (new mold)
4. Flying Gamera because it's past due... let's say Gamera 3 style
5. ... Gabara. Wild card.
Now it's dark...

YES! A new Biollante would rawk.

There's a Bio-Goji vs Rose Biollante 4'' pack Daikaissen pack. Theyre so cute for 4'' tall!

BTW there is a G3 Flying Gammy. It was made by XPlus. It is rather nice to look at.

Yeah, I meant in the standard Bandai lines, though. There's also a great Rose Biollante Marmit.

True but I dont want Bandai to just rehash figures already done. I want something left girl. I want figures that'll look good displayed next to the older figures.

Another flying G3 might be a bit much since XPlus vinyls blow Bandai away.

The existing Gorosaurus stands close to 6" if I remember correctly. Shame it's a bit pricey though.

My rule of thumb here was Bandai Japan gets new stuff, Bandai Creation gets to rehash.

Bandai Japan 6-inch:
Godzilla 1991 (closed mouth)
Manda
Varan
Zilla

Bandai Creation 6-inch:
Godzilla 1962
Titanosaurus
Gorosaurus
Battra

Let's see: Godzilla-showa (preferably 1962)
MG-heisei
King ghidorah-showa
Rodan-showa
Battle set: godzilla (2003), mothra (2003)

I would prefer the manufacturer to be Bandai!

S. H. MonsterArts..

I know these don't have waves per se, but this is really the only line I'll collect...

King Goji w/ boulder (a simple accesory I know, but these don't come with too much anyway)
Gorosaurus 1968 (probably not happening)
Anguirus (I know Kaiyodo made one but I just don't like Revoltech figures... They're so fragile)
Titanosaurus w/ swapable hurricane tail

4. Ebirah + Giant Condor boxed two pack

Different lines for different reasons, but I guess I'll give you my most obvious one:

Bandai.

Six inches.

Yuji Sakai sculpts.

Revoltech style locking joints.

Die-cast parts, ala Figuarts.

Every Showa.

That is all.
