They might as well. If there never going to give us a crossover movie with Gamera (I'm 100% sure they will one day, just not now) then at least have him as a guest fighter in a game.

If we get any more Godzilla games, personally, I hope to God it's not another pointless fighting game.

Give us something with a storyline.

Fighting games have story lines and Soul Calibur knows very well that there are good stories.

Having grand, uber stories in these games are what is dragging them out and eating up time and money. I don't know ANYONE who would play a Godzilla game for story. Personally, I'd be fine with something like Twisted Metal: Black in terms of story:

Intro - Monster on MI escaping (Guardians), Awakening/Being Born (Mutants), Being finished (GDF), or attacking Earth (Aliens)
Middle - After winning a hard fight. Quick scene or explanation on what is happening.
End - Defeat the baddie. Guardian saved the Earth. Mutant achieved ultimatepower and is now king of the monsters. GDF saved the Earth. Aliens took over Earth.

And the next gave better be a fighter. Still need a complete roster.

A good story can be put into a Godzilla game. Super Godzilla actually had a fun story with plot twists like putting Ghidorah cells in you to make yourself stronger. It felt very much like a movie, the only problem was that it wasn't a fighter.

But really all I want is a good game, there doesn't have to be an awesome story but if there is then it would be a very nice bonus.

Honestly, a fighting game based on Godzilla is a pretty un-imaginative idea and besides, it's been done three times. What's the point of treading over the ground? We'll never get a complete roster, and there's really not much you can add. I'd much rather get a Godzilla-centric story-based game than a fighter with a storyline hurt because it has to accommodate fifty different fighters.

This is foolish, everyone likes Godzilla as a fighting game franchise anyway, GDAMM was great, STE was good enough, Unleashed was bad, but had it kept STE's control scheme, it would have been awesome.

And there's been 5 Godzilla fighting games, 3 of them were good.

Because fighting Mothra 7 times is kinda boring.

It would be cool to actually wonder a round the world looking for fights and other missions like absorb 5 nuclear power plants. GU sort of gave us that but presented it in a rather bad way.

You give GU far too much credit.

Unleashed had a lot more problems than controls, and STE, considering what was promised before release, was even WORSE in comparison, regardless of control scheme.

personally, i liked the atari/pipeworks godzilla series. im pretty sure i recall them saying unleashed wasnt going to be the last, but i could be wrong. they just need to think the game through a lot more, patch up the glitches (instead of leaving most of them in the game), and add more monsters, as always (it angered me so much that kamoebas was even on the unconfirmed list for unleashed, and gorosaurus was nowhere on it). i had a few more ideas for the game too. you should choose a faction, and you should have a few chapters for each monster in it (ex: chapter one: godzilla). when you finish a chapter, you go on to the next. you have to finish a chapter with a certain monster to unlock them in the store. there should also be a movie mode. you start out with the showa series, and you fight the main enemy monster in the movie, along with your allies (ex: godzilla vs gigan: godzilla and anguirus vs. gigan and king ghidorah). when you beat the showa series, you'll unlock the heisei series, and so on.

All of the biggest problems in Unleashed are tied to the controllers, had they kept STE's controls, most of the new glitches wouldn't have showed up, and no, you can't have a glitch free game.

STE is great, maybe not as balanced as DAMM and in some parts feels a bit unpolished like the 1P mode, but it's still very good.

And Super Godzilla is NO fighting game.

They had a lot more problems than presentation. Crappy reused storyline, not-really Factions system, hundreds of glitches, clones...

GU is the last one. They simply said if GU does well, they may do a sequel, and according to Chris, G4 was in production but was dropped around late 2007/early 2008.

I think Gorosaurus was on it in the earlier days and removed, and I'm pretty sure Kameobas was just there for lulz - an example of someone who definitely won't show up.

Interesting idea... I like it.

there should also be a movie mode. you start out with the showa series, and you fight the main enemy monster in the movie, along with your allies (ex: godzilla vs gigan: godzilla and anguirus vs. gigan and king ghidorah). when you beat the showa series, you'll unlock the heisei series, and so on.

Although I like the basic idea as it's been re-iterated, the idea of a completely movie-faithful mode is stupid IMHO. I like recreating movie battles in Brawl mode, but there's only so many times you can fight in Tokyo, or fight King Ghidorah. For the sake of a little variety, you'd need to add in some non-movies and cut a few other movies.

Yeah, I suppose the biggest problems are, but there's still plenty of other issues: the clones (Godzilla 54, Godzilla 90s, MKG, MG2...) unimaginative recycled storyline and story mode, not-really factions system... and a few glitches (Bio's 'explosive' icon, Kiryu's AZC) aren't controller connected.

STE is great, maybe not as balanced as DAMM and in some parts feels a bit unpolished like the 1P mode, but it's still very good.

Think I can agree there, but my nostalgia for STE might be blinding me. I think I'm the only person who liked the mini-games, lol
