Actors/Actresses you want to see?

When it comes to younger actiors, I think of Horikita Maki (seen her recently and she is good) and Kitagawa Keiko (I know she is controversial, but I think she a very good pick for a not-too-serious role in a kaiju film)
Of the older generation, I think Nakai Kiichi (he was good in 47 ronin and in recent Railways movie), Kitano Takeshi (of Zatoichi fame) or Miura Tomokazu. As for older female actressess, I think Mizuno Kumi could return to the Kaiju scene.

Now taht I think of it, Kimura Yoshino would also be a nice addition.

As for foreign actors, I have the following in mind:
Stephen Leeder. He is great portraying military officers and generals. He was good in that role in X-men, but he was also good in the much more serious role of Gen.Vandegrift. I think he would fit in perfectly for a US military type of role.
Sissy Spacek. I think she would do well as a scientist/diplomat role. Jessica Chastain did pretty well in her recent career too, albeit I don't think she would want to be in this.
Martin Sheen could be a cool UN council member or businessman type of role.
If they would need a Russian General/Politician role, I think Bogusław Linda could be nice. He has the looks for it, the accent and he already proved many times he can play a tough-guy in B-movies or splatter films, but he also was good in many more serious roles.

Kyono_Rei, I take it you're Japanese? I've never heard of most of the Japanese actors you mentioned, so forgive me if I'm being presumptuous in thinking most likely only Japanese would know them.

I'd love to see some Japanese actors in the new film, but for Legendary to cast them, they'd probably have to be bilingual with a minimal accent. If I'm just wishing, though, I'd love to see Aoi Miyazaki since she was so funny in Shounen Merikensakku.

I was wondering the same thing, considering the use of the surnames-first format for Japanese names.

Dannielle Harris. A fan favorite among the horror community. Got her big break as the tragic Jamie Lloyd in HALLOWEEN 4, and also known as Bruce Willis's foul mouthed daughter in The Last Boy Scout. She's been in various flicks throughout the years, and love to see her in this. Also Ted Levine, hard to believe the Police Captain from Monk was the same bloke who played Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs. Him, or James Gandalfini/Tony Saprano would be interesting as the military commander in charge of having to deal with the Big-G.

True, but then agin they could provide over-dubbing. They did that before in many films (though it didn't always work well, as sometimes they had horrible voice over actors).
I don't think the idea of dubbing is inherently bad if you find good voice actors. Although admittedly, it would be easier to find japanese voice actors to dub over americans tahn vice-versa.

Admittedly, I always liked films where you had more than one language involved (with subtitles for the audiences), with japanese scientist characters speaking japanese, us military people speaking american etc. It adds to the realism and it worked very well in films like Gorath.
Still, I know that inclusion of any subtitles is for some reason very unpopular in america.

I always enjoy that, too.

But yeah, if this is to be a blockbuster type, which is to say appealing to as many people as possible, they'll likely not risk having extensive subtitles.

Avatar had a fair amount of subtitles, but it also had CGI, hot blue chicks, dragons and guns. They just have to make up for it.

But seriously no one too big but with potential, like James Marsders could be a good scientist type (i.e. Serizawa), Nathan Fillion would be a great military guy or average joe type. Quality without the extreme price tag. Or Mark Harmon as the military general hell bent on destroying Godzilla. Gibbs vs. Godzilla! LMAO

Maybe someone we wouldn't expect (know how Hal from Malcolm in the Middle blew us away in Breaking Bad?). I think the main guy just needs to be lovable. Like the guy from Insidious, main dude from Monsters. Just someone who cheers you up in that Peter Outerbridge kinda way.
