It doesn't sound like something he would do. :?

He did leave the Man of Steel to work on Godzilla. I don't remember where but there's a link on this topic somewhere. Guess he got tired of doing super hero movies.

I don;t know why people are "surprised" by this. Godzilla and Superman are on equal foting in terms of possible potential, but the Godzilla script would be more challenging given the fact the title character isn't human. That's probably why he took the job.

Superman isn't human either.

In fact, I'd say making a movie about a relatively bland, righteous superhero who can barely be hurt by anything - and making it good - is far harder than making a movie about a giant reptile destroying cities and fighting other monsters.

I can Superman sucks, an is a boring Super-Hero Character, not to mention Super-Hero movies are skreeonk burning themselves out

I might get flamed for this, but i'd rather pay to see ''Piranha 3DD'' 3X then pay to see Superman once. Which the Piranha Sequel Trailer comes out tomorrow.

Anyways, Godzilla is a much better, interesting, an more entertaining character to watch, of course many might not agree.. but i wont be surprised if Superman doesn't meet expectations.

Superman is awesome and I'm pumped for the new movie, especially if the rumors about Metallo are true.

He's pretty much the ultimate archetypical superhero and I'm pumped to hear what David Goyer has to say about Godzilla, considering someone who is as into comic books as Mr. Goyer would give up Superman to move over to little ole' Godzilla.

Although, I'm beginning to suspect that it was an "encouraged" switch from an Executive level and they're probably hoping for similar creative chemistry with Gareth Edwards as with Chris Nolan for Batman.

I was wondering and hoping, if Edwards will take any part in the writing process.
The dead animals in KOM are a result of high powered signals sent from aliens,to awaken the dormant monsters. Animals with similar senses are overloaded from the signal &drop dead. That way much of the world will be destroyed in prep for the invasion.

Well yeah he's the director. I don't think he's the producer's puppet like some people make it out to be.

I wish they just had a film where Superman is put into a room with walls, furniture and even the food and air is Kryptonite. That way, we can just watch him die in agony and laugh at how pathetic it is to die from skreeonk multi-colored rocks. He needs to be evened and fleshed out to an actual character which has the capacity to kill and save, to hate and to love. This is why I like Superboy from Young Justice, if not Smallville because they at least make him actually have emotions. Because he's not a Vulcan you know.

While Man of Steel looks good, Godzilla and Spiderman has more of my attention.

Dude they're radioactive chunks of his homeworld. The only remnants of his true home can kill him, that's kind of sad.

While it is kinda sad, you gotta admit that only certain rocks can kill him but not anyone else who touches them. Are they like tied to their genetics so they can be imprisoned in rooms of Kryptonite? That's one of the hugest plot holes of Superman because from what I've seen from Smallville that humans can only benefit from the effects of Kryptonite, getting powers and all. If they are radioactive , shouldn't it harm everyone ?

I'm just saying it would be hilarious if Lex Luthor or some other villain made an entire room out of Kryptonite to throw Superman in with Kryptonite fumes and laced into his food due to this aforementioned plot hole.
