Monster Discussion: Orga

Like him? Hate him? Don't care for him? Wasn't aware he existed? Share your opinion on the first original Shinsei kaiju here. I personally think he's one of my favorite live action kaiju up there with Showa KG, Showa Gigan, Destoroyah, and Space Godzilla. I guess I think regenerating meat bags awesome; not much else I can say really other than him having a neat shoulder cannon. :P

While I feel he's slightly forgettable I've always had some appreciation for Orga. Overall, I find the plot for G2K to be a rather creative take on the alien invasion genre and Orga is a well designed climax.

He's also my favorite character in the two earlier Pipeworks games.

Orga's okay. I like his origins as an out-of-control attemept to adapt to Earth's atmosphere. It really shows how unpredictable Godzilla can be, even when dealing with him on a microscopic level. As for the monster himself, he is kind of unforgetable. I really wish he had been a more savage fighter. He did have a very savage look about him, but I don't think it was used to its fullest. His shoulder cannon was pretty cool, though.

Meh. He's kinda cool, but is pretty pathetic. Slow, crappy beam, crappy healing factor.

I wasn't too impressed by Orga. He hardly had any screen time and was killed in a few minutes. The fight was okay, but pretty slow.

I'm gonna come out and say how big of an Orga fan I am, he's in my top 10 somewhere, I don't quite know where yet though, I really like Orga for some reason, I can't quite put my finger on it.

Orga's okay. I'm not terribly fond of him, but I don't dislike him. He does get props for being one of the few truly original kaiju to come out of the Millennium series, though.

Meh, I like the guy. He wasn't all that great a threat, but he was really original in his concept of a villain. I just wish he would have been around to fight a bit more.

I think Orga is an awesome monster and personally I'd love to see him return in a future movie.

I'm a fan of Orga. Although he did momentarily give Godzilla a run for his money, he's a fragile, vulnerable underdog, which makes for an refreshing antagonist. I like his jumping ability, his unique shoulder cannon, his telepathic ability to control his wrecked ship, and his ability to absorb genetic material in order to adapt.

He was the first monster to try and eat Godzilla, so he is kinda original in a way to kill the Big G. I like his roar when Godzilla bit into his arm. That was cool. Anyway, he may be fragile, but his regeneration was pretty fast. His shoulder cannon was able to push Godzilla a very long distance backwards, so it has to be somewhat strong to have enough force to do that.

Next to Monster X and Kaiser Ghidora, Orga is one of my least favorite Toho monsters, period. I like absolutely nothing about him which isn't helped by the fact that G2K is one of my least favorite Godzilla movies. Bleh, you guys can have him.

Eh, he's ok. If he was introduced like in the middle of the movie, I would like him more.

I always thought Orga looked liked a fat alien version of the American Godzilla.

I thought Orga was pretty cool. I thought it was neat of him being an alien that could absorb Godzilla and become a clone.

I don't really care for him. IDK, it's just he's not the best, but Orga is a nice take on the Alien Invasion story, and Godzilla 2000 was one of the better Millennium films. So meh. His intentions were cool,

To me, the worst part about Orga is wasted potential. He looks awesome, and has pretty good room for some nifty abilities. But his fighting lasted only 5 minutes, and I fear that his chances of returning in another movie are quite slim. Still, he and Hedorah are at the stop of my list when it comes to monsters I want in a new movie.

Make that non-existent. In Japan he was as popular as a massive, wet fart on a crowded bus. I don't see him ever coming back.
