What are they keeping from us?

After 3 interviews with the director Gareth Edwards since January all information such as official release date, casting, plot and confirmed monsters has yet to be release. Could this be due to the project not getting anywhere since Edwards was announced as director? I'm starting to believe its just that. As for the other blockbuster films announced for next year everything seems to be coming under way just fine with news updates and all but with this we only get scattered information here and there regarding who's involved with the project.

I'm guessing nothing concrete will be released until late november.

Goyer was just brought on to finish a script a month ago. This type of information won't be available until the film gets to such stages - and considering there's not even a finished script, it wont be for a while. I wouldn't expect any casting and/or plot news this year. The movie was moved to 2014, or so we are hearing, for good reason I would imagine.

The first indication was IMDB. But taking information from IMDB, especially in a "newsworthy" context is like sourcing a politician on Wikipedia. Its usually Bull.

But I do specifically remember an official article stating the pushback to 2014 - an article that was covering the news that Goyer was coming on to write. I'll see if I can track it down - if so I'll post it.

Regardless, it wont be 2012 or 2013. There's not even a finished script yet!

And as many pointed out, the 2013 year will bring LP's own Pacific Rim, which might bring a little overlap that they'd rather avoid. Idk, just a thought.

Unless LP or WB or Toho or anyone actually working on the film says so, any info gathered from IMDB should be taken with a grain of salt.

Good sir, I do believe I very obviously stated that IMDB is "Bull" in my original post. I even included a witty remark regarding their massive lack of credibility.

We are, however, discussing what we DO know. Like this:

But yes, Pacific Rim is out in 2013. If I were a betting man, I'd say they'll be paying very close attention to how that movie is received...

Unless they have a teaser with the Dark Knight Rises then it's likely we won't see it by Summer 2013 unless they rush the writing. I was reading on another site earlier today that Edwards is already plan on doing another movie first. I wish they would get this project moving since I'm just tired of waiting. The more I wait, the less I start to care.

A teaser with the Dark Knight Rises could sparked interest with more people and build up a lot of hype like they did with Watchmen (2009) when the teaser came out back in 2008.

2013 is very possible for a release date still till further delay I still going with 2013.

2014 is way out there unless its true that Edwards will be taking on another film before hand. This is all a mess if you ask me. Its as if LP is taking precautions with using Edwards and wants him to warm up before he does Godzilla. The LP movie line up is interesting and the company has every reason behind them to hold up this project. Pacific Rim will expose the genre to the US and get movie goers ready for Godzilla. At this point Im sure they can squeez in Pacific Rim and Godzilla in the same year.

Regarding Edwards other movie project I can only guess it will be something less in scale with Godzilla and will be a done deal in a shorter time frame. This way he still has time to get Godzilla ready by 2013.

Guys, LP will do what Tri Star couldn't, make a good american remake. I've seen some of their movies and they kick ass, so I'm pretty sure they will continue making kick ass films. It's just this upcoming film will be a challenge.

LP has 2 films coming in 2013 thus far... Pacific Rim an one other i forgot but both have already completed scripts an have begun casting.. So Winter 2013 seems possible if the film gets a completed script an begins casting by the end of this year very early next year... Otherwise expect a 2014 release.

Unless they rush this which is something we do not want again, Emmerich could have made a better ''Monster'' movie if he had more time to work with it, do test screenings, an Devlin worked harder on the script.. Wouldn't have been Godzilla still...It would have been a much more entertaining monster movie.

At this time, I am just dealing with the fact it's probably coming out ''2014'' an if it comes earlier then great if not oh well.
