James Cameron's Spider-Man movie that was plan back in 94 or 95, had Spider-Man having sex with MJ on the Twin Towers and killing a Man. I doubt it would have done well if it was made at the time.

Now that sounds like an interesting plot, and I also liked the idea of Peter having a wetdream only to find webbding everywhere but it doesn't really scream kid friendly as the animated show that was suppose to tie-in with.

But I'm all for that new different idea.

The only issue with a dark and bloody Spider-Man movie is that it will turn people off. People are used to the kid friendy Spider-Man, and will likely not make much money as SM 1-3 due to the dark tone of the movie.

I actually prefer the Gwen Peter relationship, especially if its portrayed with the same heart and emotion as the Spectacular Spider-man series.

He's not the only teenager shooting sticky stuff. But I hope they use webshooters, the fake ones anyway. Gwen would be nice too.

David Fincher (Alien 3, Fight Club, and Social Network) talks about the reboot movie.

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/ ... s/?a=21681

David almost direct the first SM movie after James Cameron left when the movie had a 1994 or 1995 release date. I remember reading that his movie had Spider-Man dieing at the end of the movie.

So Fincher can't accept a guy who shoots webs from his hands, but he can accept a guy who ages backwards?

I'm gald he did not direct Spider-Man since the idea of Spider-Man getting killed at the end of the movie sounds awful.

And apparently he can accept a Xeno egg magically appearing on a ship even though the Queen died before it laid any eggs.

True, but you can't blame him entirely for Alien 3 turning out the way it did. Fox mucked a lot of stuff up.

Well don't shit on that idea unless you read the script first and I myself wouldn't mind that as long as it's a stand alone film.

I'm all for a risky Spider-man film. However, I do not want to see an overly dark approach to the character. Maturity is fine, but Spider-man is not Batman. Do not try and copy The Dark Knight.

What title do you think the title for the movie will be? I hope it's something simple like "The Amazing Spider-Man" or "The Spectacular Spider-Man". I do have a feeling that they might call it "Ultimate Spider-Man" though.

But calling it "Spider-Man" will confuse people thinking it's a remake, and people will be like "The first movie cameout 10 years ago, why are they remaking a movie that cameout 10 years ago?".

Ah, but Batman needed that. That franchise was ground into the dirt. Spiderman 3 was a dissapointment, but it wasnt a franchise killer.
Thats the difference. 8-)
