I may release a DVD-R version of this, so if anybody feel something should be corrected, or have suggestions/criticisms in general this is the place to report.

Perhaps get a watermark remover and take out the MHD logo... I still haven't gotten around to watching the entire thing but that logo can be weirdly distracting.

It's not the MHD logo, it's from Nihon Eiga TV. However I was refering to the editing/story.

The edit was fantastic and is far better than the original. However do you think its possible at all to add subtitles?

Thanks. It does have subtitles though, what player were you using?

Windows Media Player only played the audio and not the video so I played it on my Xbox and then it worked, minus the subtitles.

I like the intro, but the typeface of the film's crew in the intro looks blurry/fuzzy and not to the same amount of quality the other text in the film is. I would suggest to fix that first, maybe even do the colorization of the footage without the text and then overlay it . That will polish it a bit more and make it professional/official-looking.

And for some reason the logo slightly expands, with the problem of the subtext "The Return Of" being a bit fuzzier than the Godzilla logo. I'd suggest the above for that if possible and possibly have the screen quickly zoom out where the whole logo is in it's intended place done digitally .

Want me to help you with the latter?

Your fan edit is fantastic and I want it to be as polished as it can be . :D

PM me that. It sounds excellent! What player do you suggest, Quicktime Player, Windows Media Player ..?

If I can find the fonts used for the International versions it would solve many things. I actually used the text right from that version but as you pointed out, it looks too soft.

Would be nice. I was trying to emulate the Godzilla 1985 logo which similarly flies into the screen.

Your fan edit is fantastic and I want it to be as polished as it can be .

Thanks. I was kinda worried people would not receive such a radical departure from the film in a positive light.

What did the original logo have for it's transition? Just keep it the way it was in it or I'll just do it to save you time.

I don't really think it matters but only if you want it to have a polished look . But it's nothing to worry about.

Well in the Japanese version the logo simply appears and disolves into a sea of lava. I may post a comparison to show what I'm trying to achieve.

As I now own and am in the process of watching G85, I now feel guiltless in asking for a PM of this.

Inspires me to do a Gojira/KOTM mashup.

I'd love to see this myself.

I'm trying to emulate the latter, but with "The Return of Godzilla" instead.

Sounds neat. I'm interested in a PM as well.

Godzilla 2000 might be good to do too. I like some things about both versions.

I'm waiting until the Criterion release which is going to have highly restored footage to do anything. I might get rid of the narration or just move it to where it would have happened in Gojira. The dubbing might be rid of for the older characters like Yamane, but for the younger ones, it will remain just out of logic. Hell, I'm not sure how'd I be able to input the serious anti nuclear weapon allegory into my fan cut , but since I'm going for a half of the original and some key scenes of Raymond Burr , I hope I could at least insert that into the film.
