Marvel Films Talkback Threads #2: Howard the Duck (1986)

Postby Hellspawn28 » Thu Aug 19, 2010 9:36 am

Well here is the second Marvel Movies talkback thread, and this would be Marvel's last theatrical movie until 1998.

Image

I seen this movie once as a kid, and I thought it was awful. This movie was very strange since I'm not sure which audience this movie is targeted, kids or adults? The jokes where bad and not funny at all, and I feel like the pacing was too slow. I feel like the movie took forever to be finished. I give the movie a 1/5.

Up next: Punisher (1989)

To see the Previous Marvel Films talkback threads:

Red Sonja (1985)

I saw this a long time ago at a friend's house not too far away and it was pretty bad. I mean, George Lucas took his name off it. That's when you know something's not right.

I never read the comics, and I think the last time I saw Howard the Duck in a comic was in Civil War.

It's a fun, quirky little movie. Not particularly good, but hey...

The only thing I like about the movie was Chip Zien as the voice actor. Other then that, I can't find anything that I like about the movie.

The comics and movie should not be compared for their share very little elements in common.

The movie - honestly, its an 80s popcorn film. Its not epic win, its not stellar, its not award winning ... Lucas wishes he hadnt done it probably.

I enjoy the film as fun. Its like Return of Swamp Thing.

I voted poor. Why? It's....not like the comics in any way. There are some funny parts (i.e., the duck boobs), but other than that, I regret watching it on the Starz package.
