I believe Godzilla's heart remained beating after the credits started rolling and will continue beating until he regenerates his entire body in another 50 years or so. Thats how Godzilla came back in the first place. After he was killed by the oxygen destroyer in his first attack, a small part of Godzilla remained and started regenerating rather slowly, until he was fully reborn in 2001. He was then posessed by the souls of World War 2 which chanelled his destructive rage and turned him into the sadistic creature he was. The same thing will happen with the heart. Godzilla will return once more and wreak havoc. If the souls leave him, then he will simply regenrate and resurface in Tokyo, cause some destruction, and leave.

Irys X wrote:Well how about rebirth then? Thats more or less what happens to GMK Godzilla over the 50 years he grows back to his former self, and what will likely happen continually until someone figures out a new strategy of getting rid of him.

Honestly, I said it on the Deadliest Monster thread too, but without a brain and other organs to provide other bodily functions, regeneration is impossible.

He did it before with less. He can do it again.

You seem to be missing that point that Godzilla never resurrected himself.

GMK is a commentary on Japan's habit of forgetting that WWII and their war crimes happened. The Souls are angry because they were forgotten.
