I thought Pacific Rim existed at Legendary before Del Toro was brought on?

Tree of life was boring.
The Smurfs was actually pretty good. corny, but good.
Your just pissy that movies that you like are not getting as much respect as other big budget movies.

Seeing kaiju/robot designs is gonna be what finally sells this to me. This is easily one of my most anticipated films.

How does SD even vaguely resemble AH? And AH would despise Tree of Life (and probably love Smurfs).
And Smurfs sucks for being an travesty of the original, going directly against its purpose.
It is a simple story. There is nothing that brings me happiness. Be it believing in others or them believe in me, it did not matter.
What others called happiness simply did not bring me joy.

Really guys, you're going to ignore what Avery posted to argue over irrelevant poop?
Hmm... so it's going to be a scary movie. Interesting. As long as it's fun, though, I'm good. I can't wait to see the monsters.

Hmm, I was under the impression that the monsters would be the big ones; not the human robots. Hell, that's still cool. I can't wait for this one, it looks interesting.

Thank you for the first sentence.
I too am interested in the "scary movie" comment. Should be some fun stuff.

I believe Del Toro said that the monsters would be the stars. He seemed to be having an incredible amount of fun while working on this project and was very excited to talk about the monsters. Giant skreeonking monsters and Giant skreeonking robots sounds like a damn good time to me.

When I said "big ones" I meant large. I thought I read that they would combat the aliens with giant robots, and I was thinking that the emphasis would be placed on the giant robots and the aliens would be small.
But then I thought (after my dumbass moment), why would we need giant robots if there weren't giant aliens? So yeah, it's good now. I just didn't read it all the way through. This looks freakin' awesome.

Re: Pacific Rim
This conveniently does make a bit of breathing room for Godzilla, but that could be pure coincidence that I'm reading way too much into. Good for Godzilla or otherwise, I'm looking forward hugely to Pacific Rim.

Legendary Posted this on their Facebook:
"Jaegers, incredibly complex, giant fighting machines that humans pilot psychicly; Our last defense against the Kaiju. Many joined our ranks at New York Comic Con, will you be there in the fight for Pacific Rim?"
Was there some sort of promotion for Pacific Rim and ARG for this? They said joined our ranks...I was there but I was working at the Nico Nico booth whoring away free accounts and t-shirts so I didn't get a chance to see it? and i love how they CAPITALIZED AND USED the word Kaiju. awesome, this movie will fantastic.
