Godzilla X Varan, Baragon and Anguirus

How do you think this movie would have gone? I figured Baragon would have had the same exact role being the first Guardian Monster killed. But then what? Would Anguirus have taken King Ghidorahs role? Or would it have been Varan? What do you think would have happened?

I think, out of nostalgia, Ghidorah would've been replaced by Anguirus. With Varan taking Mothra's role.

Actually I could kinda see that, with Varans gliding ability he could fill in for a Mothra type role

Considering that Mothra rises from a lake, it's pretty safe to say that Varan would have fulled her role. And Anguirus would have taken Ghidorah's role by elimination.

I would have been less of a beam battle too, that would mean no spirit bomb

One can only hope. I think it would make a great sequel. Only, you would have to replace Baragon. Maybe Zilla, or Manda.

I wouldn't want Zilla, but definitely Manda

Yeah Manda would be cool. Besides we already seen Godzilla destroy Zilla anyways and making him as a threat wouldn't work I don't think. But Manda would be an interesting way to go.

You can say Varan was "in spirit" in what turned to be the movie, both in Mothra's behaviour and Ghidorah's faces.

Manda can work easily as a Snake type of god. In FW he had desgin that look like a Asain Dragon (Well sort of), and he could work if they make a GMK sequel.

I prefer the choice of Mothra and KG to Varan and Anguirus. For the role of guardians, you'd expect something regal. The guaridans became more regal as they were revealed. From a puggish dinsoaur, to a beautiful moth, to finally a chinese dragon of sorts.

Though it would be cool for the latter 2 guardians to have been King Caesar and Manda personally. KC also fits the whole redirected energies fromt he Spirit Ball than KG, since he was a beam reflector in the Shwowa era.

I still think the movie was fine as it was. If there was a extar spot for the guardians then either Anguirus or King Caesar would have been good choices.

I think Rodan could have made a nice alternative to Mothra or KG, since he's Toho's fifth biggest monster and is fairly well established in Japan.

A better combo would be Baragon, Varan, and Manda, I think.

A much more bulkier and land-maneuverable Manda would make a great foe for Godzilla.
Varan would do what Mothra did, and in that scene where Mothra almost hits Tokyo Tower, it would be Varan jumping towards it and grabbing the tower briefly before gliding off again. It would work.

Also, Manda fits with the whole dragon thing and would make a better sea-fighter.

You never know, Ghidorah never had a spirit bomb before or since then so maybe after Angurius absorbs Baragon and Varan's souls he would have fired off a spirit bomb once, but yeah I think other then that one bomb Angurius would have done nothing but tooth and claw, maybe even roll up into a ball like in the atari games.

Actually I'm pretty sure Ghidorah died, but the souls of Mothra and Baragon brought him back and made him King Ghidorah
