It would make one hell of a game, even if the movie was bad, like the X-Men Origins game about Wolverine, based on a movie, kicked ass.

Yeah, I have to say, it was a shitty film but it would make a great video game. Switch between Godzilla and Ozaki, hehh

I'd rather get a new story without aliens or at the very least where the aliens are not the cause of eveything bad. Plus Pipworks and Atari lost the rights to make more Godzilla games and honestly I'd rather see someone else make the next games and hopefully do a better job.

I didn't bother reading through the 20+ pages of this thread, but I'm sure that my basic ideas here have already been touched upon somewhere...

Title: Godzilla Wars
Style: Fighting/Military
Platforms: PS3, X-Box 360, PC
Players: 1-4 plus
Online: Single or Two-Player Co-Op
Modes: Vs (Menu similar to SSBB to toggle players, teams, times and other options), Adventure (with a light yet entertaining/satisfying plot), Destruction, Survival, Cinema Mode, Online
Soundtrack: Re-recorded Akira Ifukube classics
Sound Effects: Sampled from Toho films of the 60's and 70's

Gameplay: Basically, its framework is based off Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee and Godzilla: Save The Earth, with a few key differences:
A) Slower, more suit-like actions and mechanics for the monsters. The main thing that irks me about Pipeworks' games is how fast and unnaturally agile the kaiju are. Seeing Godzilla hopping around and performing highly exaggerated uppercuts and kicks is a bit much for me. It needs to look and feel more like the movies. Next-gen graphics could do wonders for the kaiju as well - helping them resemble the rubbery textures we all know and love so much.
Also, we need varied, unique controls for every kaiju and signature moves straight from the films. That being said, many things from DAMM worked and can definitely be kept for certain monters. I haven't played STE, but I've watched videos and can see the beam-war system works better on that one, so that's how it would be here.
B) Realistic buidling destruction. I wanna see them crumble when kaiju smash into them, I wanna see fire and detailed debree flying everywhere with smoke and explosions and intense damage. The enviornments and destruction should resemble the best miniature sets of the Showa era, even when they fall to the ground.
C) Huge Maps with land barriers (mountains etc) and water barriers (invisible, but are pretty far out in the water). The green force-field thing is annoying and needs to be remedied with something more naturalistic.
D) More military resistance: not only masers, tanks and planes, but more creative methods like Mechs (Super-X anyone?), electrical wires, huge nets (and other temporary capturing devices), high powered mines, etc. Boats attack from the waters, and missiles can miss the monsters and do significant damage to the city.
E) Military Mode: Both single-player and Online (Online: you fight against online kaiju/fight alongside other online military. If no one chooses military for an online match, then they're replaced by CPUs). Choose a faction of jets, tanks, or Mechs to fight and help take down kaiju. You can switch between different machines in your batallion to move in and fire away, or get an overhead view to choose more strategic avenues in directing all of your crafts' attacks and movements. The more successfully you direct the monsters away from the more populated areas of the city to minimize damage, the higher your score and rank. This part is still pretty vague in my mind, but a monster-fighting military gameplay approach has been brought up a million times and could probably work if executed properly.
F) Improved camera-work: The camera angles in DAMM were decent, but I think they can be improved upon somehow.
G) More polish, more replay value and more addicting fun. Just more overall gameplay possibilities.

Kaiju Roster: I prefer a realistic minimalist approach in this regard rather than "OMGz LETS STUF EVERY KAJU POSIBLE IN HERE GUYZ". These are all hybrid designs/incarnations of the Toho monsters, spanning all eras:

Playable:
Godzilla
Anguirus
Rodan
Varan
King Ghidorah
Gorosaurus
Gigan
Megalon
Titanosaurus
Mechagodzilla
Destroyah
Gamera (Bonus)

Non-Playable:
Mothra: Power-up. Comes as adult form with scales-attack half the time, and larvae pair with silk attacks the other half of the time.
Battra: Power-up. Same as Mothra, only more rare and more powerful.
Ebirah: Appears at sea randomly if players are in the water, and will attack anyone who comes near.
Kamacuras/Kumonga: Both appear randomly. Kamacuras jumps on you and attacks, and Kumonga sprays silk.
Hedorah: Appears in the sky randomly, polluting the area and hurting kaiju if they're too close.
King Caeser: Power-up. Runs up to kaiju and repeatedly attempts to tackle them, and is successful if the player isn't agile enough. He'll go away after about five go-arounds, same with Mothra and Battra.
Megaguirus Swarm: Power-up. A swarm of Mega(nulon? I forgot which form the smaller swarm one is called) comes to attack the kaiju, throwing it off balance and doing small bits of damage.

Cinema Mode: For both Normal and Online. This is similar to what they did with Uncharted 2, only it would be a hell of a lot more in-depth: when you finish a match, you can go back over it with a movie editor to toggle camera angles, edit scenes, replay footage, add in effects etc. So basically you get to direct your own giant monster action sequences and can make them however you want. I would have a great time with something like this, hell I think every G-fan would.

You start out in Gotengo and fight Godzilla,
Opening then
Fight Manda in Gotengo
The Combat practice
then you Fight as all the monsters attacking the cities, and have to destory like, 40-60%
Now you act as humans for like 2-5 min each monster.
Now rush through some clip scene
Motor Bike level
more clip scenes
Now you play as Gotengo and fight your way thourgh aliens and fight Gigan for a quick battle, while trying to wake up Godzilla, then clip scene.

Now you play as Godzilla and fight Gotengo and Gigan
then clip scenes to each new city
and you fight as Godzilla, each monster in according order.
then Gotengo against mother ship.
Then first fight as Godzilla against Monster X
Show Clip scene
Now fight as Ozaki against the Xilian leader, (do like the final level of king kong game, and you really do no damage but lose health), and last for at least 3 min.
show clip scene
Second Fight as Godzilla against Monster X
Clip Scene of Mothra coming to fight and Gigan being released.
Fight as Mothra against Gigan
Now you play as Ozaki, and you fight against the Xilian leader and win.
Clip scene of Xilian ship starting to self-destruct
Show clip scene of Monster X transforming
Fight as Godzilla against Kaizer Ghidorah (again as the final level of king kong) lose
Clip scene
Now all juiced up, Fight as Godzilla against Kaizer Ghidorah and win.
Clip scene of gotengo crashing and all of rest of ending from film.
after credits,
bonus level unlocked.
You can choose any monster from fight, and go from water into city and destroy it all that cool stuff, then in middle, you can pop in any other monster from movie, and fight em., ad up to 6 monsters to fight.

That would be cool to me. :| :P :D :) ;) :o :shock:

PS2 and Gamecube need one, but not the Xbox 360? Those two are dead, and the 360 is a juggernaut when it comes to video game sales.
