Favorite DVD menu?

Postby EikoHarvey » Mon Jul 25, 2011 4:38 pm

Hey, I figured, why not?
It's simple. Which DVD menu is your favorite?
Toho movies, obviously :?
I like the DVD menu from Terror of MechaGodzilla's second classic media release. I like the music, it's that simple.

I can't really pinpoint one single favorite, since the menus aren't the most important thing on my mind when I pop one in. Having said that, I'll go with your suggestion, although I'm going with Mothra vs. Godzilla or all Monsters Attack, because AMA plays the American version's title song, and I freakin' love that song, as wierd as it is.

All of Classic Media's recent DVD releases have spiffy menus. Can't say I have a favorite out of all of them.

Simitar's menus also have a certain charm to them.

Godzilla 2000. It looks a little dated nowadays, but it was the first DVD I owned and therefore the first menu I ever saw. I was forever a DVD fan from that moment on...Blu-Rays are way better but I don't like the menus as much, from what I've seen.

I'd have to say Sony/Tristar's Godzilla 2000 as well. Despite the fact the DVD doesn't have the Japanese version, I rather like the menu. The second-release Classic Media ones are good as well.

I totally forgot about Godzilla 2000! It was one of the few Godzilla DVDs I liked as a kid, because it actually had some special features, and that menu is cool. I also used to really like that movie as a kid.

My "Widescreen Destruction Edition" Gorgo DVD menu is pretty cool; with him/her walking through the city in the background.

Pretty much the Classic Media DVD menus for their Godzilla sets.

I agree.

I also like the one for Astro-Monster, it's strangely calming.

G2K has great menus but the missile animation when you change menus is cheesy and annoying. Classic Media's menus are great but they share their style a bit too closely to me.

The Destroy all Monsters menu is pretty nice. However I'd have to say Sony's work with the menues is stellar. Instead of focusing on pretentious animations you get nice static images that don't eat up space, allowing better picture and audio quality. And the titles for their scene selections kill me, like the flying scene in Godzilla vs. Hedorah which is labeled "Something you don't see every day".
Every film should have at least one animal attack.

Wait...Which DAM menu?! There isn't one.

As for me, I also really dig the CM menus. The music used for the MONSTER ZERO, TOMG, and WOTG disks are perfect.

The menu for Godzilla Raids Again. I was watching it at a friends house during a sleepover, and the music lulled me to sleep. :3

The Japanese version of that movie put me to sleep literally.

My favorite menus would have to be the CM discs very well done.

Godzilla 2000 may not be my favorite Godzilla movie of all time, but I will say it has a creative menu. If you look at all the other ones, they are kinda just generic with or without music and just a simple background. So my vote goes to G2000.
