Worst Movie Sequels

Postby Hellspawn28 » Mon Aug 01, 2011 3:46 pm

Since we have a thread for the best sequels then why not make one for the worst? The worst movies sequels in my opinion are:

- AVPR: Aliens vs Predator Requiem (2007)
- Batman & Robin (1997)
- Blade: Trinity (2004)
- Caddyshack II (1988)
- Daddy Day Camp (2007)
- Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)
- Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
- Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994)
- Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
- Highlander II: The Quickening (1991)
- I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
- Jason X (2002)
- Jaws: The Revenge (1987)
- King Kong Lives (1986)
- Leprechaun 4: In Space (1997)
- Mortal Kombat Annihilation (1997)
- Robocop 3 (1993)
- Rocky 5 (1990)
- Saw IV (2007)
- Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989)
- Starship Troopers 2: Hero Of The Federation (2004)
- Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997)

Those are the movies that I can think on the top of my head at the moment. I might add some more later.

Depends on the version you saw. And in honesty, Highlander III, IV and V are MUCH worse then Highlander II. I swear I watched all three a couple months back and I was willing to drink acid to get out of watching III ever again..

My suggestions:
Spider-Man 3
X-Men First Class (IMHO the weakest the whole franchise)
Superman II The Richard Donner Cut
Howling 4 and above
Critters II and IV
The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift (this movie is so bad, the films all take place BEFORE it by writing).

I only seen the original version on TV over a decade ago. First Class was a prequel, I did thought X3 was a bad sequel but I rather watch X3 over Blade: Trinity in my opinion. I also thought the 3rd Omen movie was pretty awful and same with Psycho III (Why did they made sequels to Psycho in the first place?).

Im sorry but XM FC to me is a sequel. I dont care if they call it a prequel. It took already established elements from the first film and ...well skreeonk some up.. and expanded on it.

You need to see Highlander II ZEIST Edition and Renegade Edition. Theyre ALOT better. Not MUCH better but alot better. IMHO though the TV version is the best. At leats it doesnt try to be something it's not.

Trolls 2 = this thread.

but on a more serious note, Batman and Robin, Staying Alive (1983) and Blue Brothers 2000 are among the worst sequals I've seen...
Hope... I will find it!

Yes, worse. XMFC evolved no characters. It was extremely dry in some parts, and then just OMG get it the skreeonk over with! in other parts. So many aspects of this film couldve been expanded on to make it so much better! Like a rivalry of Xavier and Erik over Raven. Beast and Raven's little triste, more about the Summers bloodline.

The movie just threw together some no-name actors as mutants, threw in some dry English flare and some dramatic license and expected people to eat it up. Im sorry, it failed IMHO as a good sequel. Sure, X-Men 3 and Origins werent spectacular like X2 but at least the characters felt real.

You missed the point of the original Rocky then. Apollo was not a villain. He was never portrayed as one. And Rocky Balboa is part of the circle of life, no Adrian, still trying to live in the 2000s where boxing is a wisp of what it was back in the 80s and early 90s. The only real villains in the Rocky movies were Clubber, Drago and Tommy Gunn.

Rocky is the story of a poor dumb fighter who was given a chance to be great and rose to the top, then his fall through excess and rise again as an American hero (Rocky 4) but Rocky 5 had no real-world backing. Boxing essentially was Tyson vs Anyone and Tyson won. Rocky Balboa was Rocky being human, a long-past fighter in a sport that's nearly dead in the US.

Here is what i say bout movies with happy endings. LEAVE THEM THE skreeonk ALONE!

Rocky Balboa had a happy ending - he proved he was still a contender, he was still loved in his hometown, that he mattered and that he could still help people.

Rocky 5 ended with them being broke ass poor living in an old shitty house and Rocky's son being a cock-bag

I liked TS, it had flaws but I don't think it was that bad. The Director's cut is better film too if you ask me.

Didn't we already have one of these?

Anyway, I have only one sequel I would consider the worst. Yes there's bad ones out there like Fantastic four: rise of the silver surfer, X-men 3 the last stand I consider a really bad one and is probably the 2nd worst sequel I've seen next to this one:
