There was nothing really wrong with Megs, she was cool. I liked her too. She was just in a shitty movie. :D

Technically, Monster X did not even come CLOSE to defeating Godzilla. Monster X was getting his ass beat down throughout most of their fight. It was Keizer Ghidorah who nearly defeated Godzilla.

Nitpick mode disengaged.

No think about it, Monster X turned into Kaizer Ghidorah, even though they are 2 different kaiju's, they are the same being, because he transformed. Then he transformed, he was knocking the sh!t out of Godzilla, until Okazi, "did I spell that right" gave him more energy.

Gonna have to say GMK Godzilla. The portrayal was so fresh after all the anti-hero stuff for so long, and the suit and most of the execution were really striking and memorable.

Other than that, Orga, Megaguirus, FW Manda, and GMK Ghidorah were fun designs. The execution of them? Not so much...

My fav monster's are Monster X and Orga. They are the most original monsters out of all of the millenium monsters. Megaguirus is an evolution of the bugs from 'Rodan', Kiryu's just a new Mechagodzilla, and all the redesigns don't count as new monsters to me. Even if they count they're still redesigns.
Also Orga's attacks are really unique.

I didn't like Orga there for a while, but he's warming up to me again, especially since I found my old Bandai figure in the attic. Love that toy.

Orga's design is awesome but the execution could have been better, particularly the arms. Those things were kinda awkward IMO.

I agree with Captain Aktion. My favorite of the Millennium kaiju would definitely be GMK Godzilla. As Aktion said, GMK Godzilla was such a breath of fresh air. Godzilla is fun as a force of nature, but having a truly evil Godzilla was something else. GMK Godzilla acted so damn brutal. He didn't just beat his opponents, he punished them. For example, instead of just frying Baragon's ass when he cornered him, GMK Goji instead chose to stomp on the thing, further torturing Baragon until his inevitable demise. He also came off as more cunning than most other kaiju in the Millennium era; the scene where he whipped around mid-beam to blast Mothra instead of King Ghidorah comes to mind. Other incarnations of Godzilla in the Millennium series were cool, but none of them were as memorable as GMK Godzilla.

Outside of GMK Goji, my pick would go to Kiryu. I really didn't like the MechaGodzilla of the Heisei era. I never liked the design as it came off too rounded. His face always looked too friendly for the ultimate man-made weapon that would finally be the one to kill Godzilla. I understand the concept around making MechaGodzilla a cold, personality-deficient machine; story-wise it made sense, but not much else made sense in that story (Why in hell would the JSDF build a super weapon that looked exactly like Godzilla for no reason?), so why start now? It made MechaGodzilla boring. The MechaGodzilla of the Showa era was awesome. It was brutal, it looked awesome, and it acted in such a twisted, malevolent manner. The design itself was awesome. The hard edges and almost rusty exterior gave the impression that this was a badass, evil mech. Granted, making a robot copy of Godzilla didn't make much sense there either, but it worked since the movie was already a nonsensical kids film full of camp value.

The Millennium series MechaGodzilla married the best aspects of both versions to create my favorite version of the character. The silver shining sheen from MechaGodzilla II's paint job and extra fire power (Kiryu's shoulder cannons remind me so much of Garuda) was combined with the hard edges and menacing design of the Showa version. I was happy to see the man-made plot be done again, as the idea of MechaGodzilla being a protector rather than an invader was appealing to me. It didn't work in MechaGodzilla II for me because it didn't make sense for the JSDF to make a robotic version of Godzilla. With this new version came a tad more sensibility behind it all, what with the use of the original Godzilla's skeleton to form the body, thus explaining the need to make the mech look so similar to Godzilla. Sure, it still didn't make much sense, but it was good enough for me. Kiryu's new freeze move was sweet, as was his combination of both melee and ranged attacks. The entire plot of Kiryu gaining sentience and going on a rampage had no logic behind it whatsoever, but it was interesting and it added a dynamic of unpredictability that most Millennium fight sequences lacked. Kiryu was awesome.
This is my signature. I worked very hard on it. I hope you enjoyed it.

^Interesting. I've never been a big Kiryu fan. I've always liked the idea of using G's skeleton to build a cyborg, I just wish they had come up with it before they did the robot thing to death. I have been watching xMG and S.O.S. a lot more recently, however, and I don't find them to be nearly as boring as I did initially.

G2K Godzilla was really cool, I liked how twisted and gnarled his dorsal fins looked, but as with a lot of others GMK Godzilla was also really kick ass, cant beat those white eyes so my favorite new Godzilla is tied between those two I guess.

Other than that the new King Caesar looked great and got me pumped when I first saw FW. Brought me back to watching the first mechagodzilla repeatedly all day long as a kid. And I thought Orga was a really cool new monster with some sick powers. Plus you gotta love the flying nose.

Orga, Megaguirus, and Zilla.

Orga and Megaguirus because I love their designs and the powers they were given.

For Zilla, I think he's to underplayed and had the potential to become a main villain or become an ally of Godzilla.

Agreed, a souped up Zilla ala The Animated Series fighting alongside or against Godzilla would be very cool to see...but the CGI has to be way better than FW or else it will fail.

I agree that Godzilla vs Megaguirus wasn't the best of the Millennium movies, but it was still fun, and Megaguirus was a nasty looking creation with some cool abilities, she just wasn't executed properly.
