True they wheren't officially licensed or maybe they where
? Simitar licensed them from UPA, who had the US rights to those films at that time. Classic Media later bought the UPA library which is why they now hold the video and TV rights.

You've called this a rumor before but I've already explained that it's not. Back in 2009 I attended a private screening at Sony Studios for their restoration of MOTHRA. Before the movie I spoke with a number of Sony guys about their plans for a Godzilla/Toho FX DVD set that would include all the films Sony had only released English dubbed. The idea was to reissue all those films (plus REBIRTH OF MOTHRA 3) in their correct aspect ratios, uncut, and with both English and Japanese audio.
Now Sony discussing their ideas at a reception is not the same thing as Sony definitely planning to release that DVD set. But it is something they're thinking about. And since I was told that by Sony, it's certainly not a rumor.
