I feel like I need to clear up some misconceptions around here.
First: You will not see many Sci-Fi Revolts going for less than around the $30 mark.
I have a Giant Robo (anime version), Gigantor, and Black Ox. All of these were much cheaper. Around $15; some even less than that.
The standard mechs and anime characters are generally a tad bit lower in price, especially some of the older figures.
Having said that, I did, however, purchase the Batman Revoltech from HLJ a few months back for the amazingly low price of $15. $22 shipping and all from Japan.
Awesome figure, but I digress.
Also, Revolts don't have a lot of heft to them.
They're pretty light as a function, as their limbs and joints are all removable.
Most of the ones I've bothered to check are hollowed out inside; I guess maybe Rodan isn't? Mothra probably isn't too hollow, but it doesn't really matter with her...
U-A Gomora, on the other hand...if you pop of one of his legs, rather than having a peg attached to the leg that goes into a hollowed out body, the peg sticks off of the body, and the inside is solid; You can't reach up inside of Gomora (man, I never thought I'd type that sentence...).
This is a small, minor point to some, I'm sure, but it makes all the difference when you pick them up.
Even SH Figuarts feel like they have a great weight balance; I can balance my Kamen Riders on one foot, no problem.
It's one of those subtle things that separates cheap figures from quality figs.
I'm holding out hope, especially with the SH branding, we're going to get some high quality product here, and unfortunately, you have to pay for that.
As you can see, the price is already fluttering, so again, if the $70 price tag is scaring you off, hold up and do a little shopping for a while. We've still got a lot of time.
ALSO: I haven't ever seen promo pics from before a release where the paint-apps are 100%, especially on 6 in. figures. I'm sitting here looking at my X-Plus USA Godzilla's and, man, are their mouths pink...Oh well, I just try not to fixate on things like that. Nothing has ever been perfect.
