Bland Godzilla Game OSTs

Postby EikoHarvey » Wed Jun 29, 2011 2:32 pm

I'm all about music. I'm all about video games. I'm all about video game music. Also, I'm all about Godzilla- So I'd like it if my Godzilla games had GOOD music. Sure, it's fine if you listen to it out-of-gameplay (so you can actually hear it :I) but there are so many other games that just blow the soundtracks away. What are your thoughts on the soundtracks?

I've always thought that a good soundtrack is a key ingredient to a good game. Just look at Star Wars games. If they didn't have the classic John Williams pieces, they just wouldn't feel like a Star Wars game. I think the Godzilla games should at least start including some of the music from the movies, since they are so heavily based on them.

Yeah, G games using movie scores would be nice, or at least an option for custom soundtracks so we can fill in the blanks ourselves. Knock Unleashed all you want, but for my money it has BY FAR the best score out of the three Pipeworks games.

Even against DAMM? that had a custom Soundtrack. So you could put the movie music in it.

I think Ifukube tracks and whatnot would cost more money from Toho. The monsters are expensive enough as it is.

I'm not asking for Ifukube, I'm asking for good ORIGINAL music.

Why can't they do what the GDAM for the SNES did and remake the themes from the films to be faster pace so it fits with the fighting?

Agreed, the soundtrack is AWESOME, although DAMM's had one specific song that I like a lot, this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Igyov-2uudU

Epic! aside from that the soundtrack is just fine, STE's was kinda odd but not bad I guess, Unleashed's however is just too good.

Money Money Money. I say buy the main theme only, the rest leave it to new soundtracks, as Unleashed demonstrated, there are way cool themes that can be made and I'd rather have something more fast paced for a game than the classic themes.

No, the issue with the themes if I remember correctly is not only do they have to pay, but they can't just buy a package of themes from Toho. They have to go to the various individual artists and license them. I believe it was something along those lines. I'm not sure why that's an issue since Ifukube did so much work to himself but that's what they said

I like G:U's soundtrack

Who here thinks this sounds like music from the Atari/Pipeworks games?

The superior Xbox version included custom soundtracks. The vastly inferior GameCube version did not.

Well, could a Gamecube even be capable of custom soundtracks? The only reason you could have custom soundtracks on the Xbox version is because you can play music from your Xbox hard drive.

Woah woah woah, easy bud, in the end of the line it's pretty much the same thing, the Xbox version just adds more replay value by adding one character, which happens to be half a clone, a new stage, Vs. Cpu and custom soundtracks, none of the being 100% new content except for the soundtrack but that doesn't affect gameplay.

Sure Xbox version adds that cherry on top, but by that statement I mean that it's not that much of an improvement.

I see... Gigan X3 is right IMO, there isn't THAT much more on the Xbox version. I have the GC version, so that explains it. Honestly, Nintendo needs to get with the program and add capabilities like those of the Xbox to their consoles. Like custom soundtracks, hard drives, etc.

If you don't have a second player available, having CPU opponents makes all the difference, but DAMM GC only has those in Story, Survival and Versus modes, and it's all one-on-one fighting. Hurts replayability a lot.

I don't even care about Kiryu or the extra stages.

Which makes it even more silly for you to call it vastly inferior since the only thing you don't have is the choice of who you want to fight against.
