Sony's Hedorah transfer looks amazing on my HDTV.
Mine too, but I do get where Legion is coming from. I've watched the film countless times on various TV sets (standard def and HD), and the night scenes are harder to see on certain TV's. Everyone's experience will be different depending on their set up, but I do think it must have something to do with the transfer being darker than usual, considering none of Sony's other Showa Godzilla releases seem to suffer from the same problem. All in all, the quality is astounding overall (being a bare bone R1 release).
I wish I could see the film in 35mm. Seeing these films in their original format made GIGAN look like a work of art..Goddamn I wish I hadn't missed G-fest 05'
