Interested to see if they release it with a 2019 quality skin paint job.

I’ll pick it up if it’s even a slight improvement over the original paint job

I asked NECA’s ebay store regarding their Godzilla ‘14 listing and according to them the figure they’re selling is just the clamshell version on there.

They probably have a ton of those still in the warehouse so I don’t expect the boxed reissue to hit the online store soon. Best bet for now is at target in person or any other physical store

Have we seen people with this supposed G14 boxed figure? This is news to me.

It's not supposed, NECA has confirmed it's real, and I believe the only showing so far was an eBay auction by a private seller.

Also, NECA has confirmed that the expected ship of the '89 and 2003 figures is now July.

Cool, didn't see a source or an image which is why I was skeptical.

Hard plastic spikes this time?
Almost looks like some sort of bluish-gray wash was added? Could be the lighting, I don't own the original so I'm not in much position to make any assertions.

There were two paint versions of the original release. One basically had no paint on it except the eyes, mouth, and claws. The other had some kind of blue greenish wash/highlights applied to the body. There were some comparison pics made back when they came out.

This looks to be a new, third paint job and looks to be the best yet.

I agree. New paint job, possibly new spikes. This might oddly enough, be the best Godzilla 2014 released in figure form. The X Plus is great but it’s head sculpt is off.

Playing with backlighting on my newly-acquired Poster version Mothra. Putting it back-to-back with the original produces a neat effect, somewhat similar to the movie appearance.

Not nearly as interesting from the other direction though.

Also for whatever reason it shows up quite blue on camera, but more subdued in person.

Now that is the proper way to colour a 2nd release of Neca's Mothra! If they had done that paint job easy buy for me.... Reminds me of Mothra's battle-damage flashing wing colours as it leapt off Godzilla's back just before being blasted by Ghidorah.

I mean if they toss in the larval form I'd be down for a 3rd release. :P
Honestly though I don't know how they'd pull off wings that glow both orange and blue.

So when are 1989 and 2003 suppose to be released?

I very much consider TFA to be half-assed. What a generic film which only fed on nostalgia, it brought nothing new to the table.
That's not true. C3PO had a red arm.

I know that BioGoji is supposed to be released this month. As for SOSGoji, I'll need to do a quick lookup.

EDIT: Both are releasing this month according to the official NECA site.

Well, that's certainly a thing.
