Are you counting the Ewok movies and the Holiday special in that?

Because other than those, I only know of 3 Star Wars movies.

I think you meant 3 movies  What a shame though. I'm was gonna see it in theaters but I think I will stick with a cell phone camera on Pornhub.

So what you want about the prequels I don't know how Gojidog and Rodan95 missed Revenge of the Sith.

so if the MonsterVerse continues past GvK I think a Mothra movie valentines day weekend 2022 and a skull island sequel in fall 2022 would be cool

Do you still have the Dinosaur Rose Red Glasses protocol running? If so you may have to update to the ROTS IOS.

Revenge of the Sith is overrated garbage with only 3 really good scenes, Return of the Jedi is a much better movie

Nah.

Added in 2 minutes 59 seconds:
However since we're on the topic of furry build-a-bears destroying the Empire, i'd like to see Kong wield a sword against Godzilla... and just get absolutely molly whopped against a mountain.

Sith is on par with the OT, I can find bad in all 4 films but the good outweighs them.

LEGO Franchise to continue at Universal.

I’m posting this here because the LEGO Movie came out the same year as Godzilla 2014, both were major blockbusters from WB that were supposed to kickstart franchises.

They both didn’t receive a sequel until 5 years later this very year, and both also had spin offs in between (Kong: Skull Island and LEGO Batman). The sequels suffered considerably at the box office with many analysts pointing to the 5 year gap among other things for each one (the LEGO Movie 2 not being as funny and the novelty of the first one worn off, and KOTM for obvious reasons we should know by now).

We know that Toho wants Godzilla to be mainstream and a bigger brand with their marketing campaign “World of Godzilla.” They already have history with Universal in King Kong vs. Godzilla albeit almost 60 years ago (and would be ironic to bring the franchise to the studio after the 2020 remake lol ). Universal is the home of Jurassic Park/World, King Kong, and the Universal Monsters.

They definitely have experience with creature features, and in the case of Toho boosting Godzilla’s popularity, we can hopefully see a theme park attraction among other things.

If things don’t work out next year, I bet money that Toho will take Godzilla to Universal after 2020.

I’m going to start calling you STRETCH Armstrong because of all the stretching you do with these theories.

Hopefully GvK is a box office smash and this is all a moot point. I still feel like the MV is dead after the next film, but would love to be wrong

So let's scale him up shall we. Using the square cube law, an animal of the same proportion with twice the size yields an eight times increase in mass or body weight. If we high ball Kong's height to 126.4m which is effectively 4 times its size from KSI we get a weight of 10,112 tons, compared to almost 100,000 tons for a 120m tall Godzilla in Kotm. It's a 9.9 times difference in mass in favor of Goji, now put that in perspective!
No wonder according to the leak, when Kong hits Godzilla the latter didn't even flinch but when Goji hits Kong, it sends the ape flying. The mass is so dense and heavy in Godzilla I can imagine when Kong charges on it'll be like you hitting a brick wall. I think this is why Kong needs a weapon in this movie to deliver enough damage. A pointy end like Muto's claw or sharp edge like an axe when applied with strong force or thrust could hurt Godzilla.
Honestly if they go this route, that would be the dumbest thing ever. Kong's mass is clearly on par with Godzilla's looking at their bodies alone, he is literally the size of Godzilla. Why would they make him so big if his punches have no weight to them? Like I swear, if Legendary does that, it would be so god damn stupid. It's clear he's grown, it makes sense that he would be able to go one-on-one against Godzilla without any weapons since that's what we see in the cave painting in KOTM.

That's interesting to hear about the Lego movies. Nice to know that they'll continue despite the sequel not doing so hot. And those are some good points you've brought up especially with the Toho part. Regardless of how KOTM ultimately did here they're still pleased with how it's turning out so far and it'd make sense they wouldn't want to see it done just yet. Not to mention Warner Bros isn't really in charge of the Monstervese but Legendary is and of course Legendary is working with Universal currently so they could just continue the Monsterverse under Universal's banner should WB no longer see the need to keep the Monsterverse. We were able to get a Pacific Rim sequel under Universal anyway so it has been done before.

Not to mention it would also benefit Universal greatly since their own attempts of a cinematic universe of their own hasn't been great so far so I'd imagine they wouldn't have an issue of having the Monsterverse be their flagship cinematic universe. I mean WB still has the DC universe to use for their movies as well as their Hanna Barbera Ciematic animated universe should SCOOB be a smash hit so they're ok on the cinematic universe department so should Universal takes the helm of the Monsterverse WB wouldn't have much to lose from it.
Why am I always chasing rainbows?

If Universal got the monsterverse I wonder if Frankenstein vs Godzilla would finally be made.

Godzilla and Kong fighting giant versions of the universal monsters could be a gimmick actually.

Erm you realize Frankenstein's monster is in the public domain right? :?

The only aspect of the character Universal owns is the Boris Karloff design.

Er, nope. You scale up Kong's ape like bipedal proportion to Godzilla's height and the latter would still be vastly heavier, more massive voumetrically. And don't forget a lot of Kong's perceivable size are hair, not to mention he did not look nearly as tall as Goji either in the leaked footage.

I'm no math whiz but even at the same height, Godzilla should massively outweigh Kong. His tail, his spines, his armored body is gonna weight a lot more thank Kong's fur by a large margin.

It would actually be wrong if they weighed even remotely close to each other. The very fact that Kong is supposed to be much faster suggests that he weighs much less. I think 60-70,000 tons would be there perfect weight for Kong so that he could be faster without being to small.

Rodan was 36,000 tons for reference.

Godzilla is a walking nuclear beast, a reptillian bear.

Kong is a large ape.

A bear similar in height to a gorilla would still weigh almost triple the weight.

I hope they either shrink Kong's head or enlarge Godzilla's. Godzilla always had kind of a pin head, but it makes sense because of his massive size. In SI, Kong had that '33 Kong head.. I just hope he's grown into it a bit.
