I only go to movies if I expect to like them, so I haven't seen many awful ones.
Two best movies of the year are Joker and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Joker is exactly the kind of comic book movie we need to offset the deluge of lighthearted jokey MCU movies and skreeonk all the critics who gave it a bad review for being dark. Not every movie based on a comic book character has to be full of sarcastic goofballs. OUATIH is one of Tarantino's best films, and I don't say that lightly. A beautifully crafted period piece with two incredible lead characters. One of the few movies I've seen three times in theaters.
Worst movie I've seen this year is It Chapter 2. What a huge letdown. Chapter 1 was so good that I had high hopes for the sequel, but it was a tedious mess (pun intended). For the record, a lot of people seem to think Dark Phoenix was the worst movie of the year; it was definitely bad, but I'd still take it over It 2.

The Lion King Remake is the worst film this year. Terminator Dark Fate is worse then Dark Phoenix although that's not saying much, sorry you didn't enjoy IT Chapter 2, I actually thought it was one of the best films this year. Yes it certainly had flaws and I have my complaints about it but a lot of films this year were major let downs or didn't live up to there potential.

I feel a similar way about Avengers Endgame, I found it to be a boring mess and a huge let down from Avengers Infinity War. Infinity War I watched multiple times but Endgame it was a struggle to make it through the first time.
