Definitely. Only time I intentionally got rid of articulation was with shin, where I lost head Movement in favor of an accurate look and a Moving upper jaw. Hell in some cases like G19 I went and made it so the articulation work better by cutting slits in the Head and Balljoint sockets so it has more range.

A clay called poly form . It’s air dry and can be resoftened with water. Once it’s painted it’s harder to Make soft again.

That's a sweet sculpt! Here's my custom Kong, choosing the right body was a pain, since I really wanted to give him a more animal-like body. At first, I was going for a K:SI feel, but along the way, I put a lot of my personal preference and a little bit of my own artistic license. I feel quite happy with the results.
