Paramount reissue of Mothra vs Godzilla I don't know why but I've always been fond of that artwork.

The ADV DAM cover. By far. The old Simitar covers are so horribly bad that I can't help but love them, too.

Yeah, ADV's Destroy All Monsters cover was pretty neat. Almost makes up for the terrible dubbed version they were forced to use.

It would also have to make up for the awful picture quality and the lack of chapter stops. Poor 'roided up art of the monsters that completely misrepresents the movie can't even come close to doing that.

You're right. Poster Art should properly represent the film. What a rediculous idea, to misrepresent something to attract people too it.

Anyways, I love the Godzilla 1985 cover art. And the before mentioned ADV DAM cover is great. I was super pumped to have found that copy of it (used).

Amen to that. :D

Anyway, Simitar's 1998-era covers are great IMO, one really has to give them points for trying. But HBO's release of Biollante is definitely my favorite. (I love that artwork so damn much!)

Hmmm this one will be tough I would have to say ither the Goodtimes Home Video covers of their Godzilla VHS series cause of the wonderful art work...or Godzilla vs Biollante. Both have wonderful art work but there's also Godzilla vs Monster Zero all 3 in my opinion are great artwork covers. Godzilla vs Monster Zero one is a classic. Here's the covers sorry I dont own Cosmic Monster of Goodtimes no more ma threw it out years ago :(

Thank you. ;)

Even just the awful picture and rotten dubbing is enough. I guess it's possible to think the cover art is cool, but it makes the movie look like a Heisei film, and does a lot of throw off a first-time viewer.

As far as I'm concerned, nothing beats the VHS cover for Godzilla vs Gigan from New World Home Video.

Godzilla vs. Gigan's New World Home Video cover and Godzilla vs. Biollante by HBO get my votes for the US stuff.

For the Japanese, it's too hard to say as a lot of them were very well done, such as GMK, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, Rebirth of Mothra 3, etc.

I tend to love Paramount's covers, even if they are full of inaccuracies. The KOTM cover is still the image that comes into my head when I think of the U.S. version of the original film. Gotta love how nonchalant Raymond Burr looks as everyone around him runs for their lives. Smoke that pipe, Steve Martin!
