Criterion Channel Online!

The Criterion Channel, a new paid streaming service from The Criterion Collection, went online today. Many Toho movies, including Kurosawa and Godzilla films, are available.

Don't forget Naruse, Obayashi, and Fukuda, plenty of great films from those. Taniguchi's first film is also on there.

Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla and Son of Godzilla are both available! Much wow, so yes. I'll definitely be subscribing to this thing soon.

I watched SoG last night, and I was so happy that for the first time in North America, G-Fans can see the original Japanese credit texts that were completely replaced on those films that Sony released in America (the so-called "International Versions").

I watched my old Columbia-TriStar DVD of Son of Godzilla right after watching it on Criterion Channel and the subs (to my eye) were indeed new.
