im more in favor of Mosugoji, as a lot of fans are, i always thought the Head from o frontal veiw on the king goji was odd, kinda like a bug eyed kermit, the body is kinda cool though, having a couple good vinyl model kits of the king goji made me appreciate him more.

Agreed. The design is one of numerous issues I have with the film.

Personally, I think the MothGoji suit is a million times cooler. Those eyes make Godzilla look mad as hell and really make him sinister imo

Mosugoji is probably an all around better suit, but the Kinggoji suit has a great bod (rowr) and the head has a skreeonk GREAT profile. Not so good straight on, but it looks cool as hell from the side. Not a perfect suit, but one of my faves for sure.

I hate the 1962 suit.

His body is too bulky, and much too heavy in the ass. The head is poorly proportioned as well, wide in the muzzle and neck, and then narrowing into a pinhead.

Now, the 1964 suit is my absolute favorite. Slender and serpentine, large, intelligent eyes, but with those pissed-off brows that make him look like he's shooting the camera the evil-eye in every scene. Love that design!

I was just poking fun at your comment, because that's the first time I've heard "This Godzilla's ass it too huge" as a negative for a design. Considering Godzilla has a TAIL, it's never mentioned by most people.

I imagine Heisei Godzilla would have a huge ass with those thunder thighs.

Yeah, but those thighs keep his legs from snapping like kindling under that barrel chest and an 80/100 meter body!

I always thought 50 meters was the sweet spot, at least some dinosaurs would have had roughly the same mass, even if they were sauropods. Aside from the practicality, I like a Godzilla that can interact a little more with people at ground level.

Me too, it looked like it was a struggle for him just to put one foot in front of the other because of the bulk involved. I don't think it's a good sign if Homer Simpson looks leaner and more agile that the King of the Monsters, but then, a lot of the Heisei monsters look sort of...bloated. SpaceGodzilla, Destroyah (whose design I liked in other ways), and that big chrome pear they called MechaGodzilla II.

I like the 1984 suit, but then it seemed like the G-man got into steroids during the 90s.

I love the Heisei design in still pictures (particularly 89 and 91), but not so much in-action. It's kind of like the definitive Godzilla look in my mind for some reason, though.

The two Goji's I grew up with have to be the Kingoji and the Megarogoji. The Kingoji has that reptilian ferocity, and mass that makes him look almost immovable. I would sometimes prefer this version of Godzilla to go up against his first nemesis: King Ghidorah. Kingoji appeared to be even more formidable than the Mosugoji or the Daisensogoji; seems more capable of out-muscling the golden space horror. And here's another thing I've observed: a lot of people seem to hate the way the eyes look; pointing the finger and making comments like "Kermit" or "Frog." At first, I thought as much that Godzilla did look 'froggish,' but after doing some searching, I came to a better comparison: crocodilian. Kingoji's top-set eyes look distinctly crocodilian. In a way, this suits him. Crocodiles have their eyes set on top of their heads as a way to monitor prey from underwater and keeping their bulk hidden in the murk. I can see Kingoji employing this if he's standing underwater; peeking through the surf.

I both like & dislike King-goji's face. I like it, because it portrays a fierce, animalistic kaiju. I dislike it, because it doesn't really look intelligent, and as a result, this suit would not be appropriate for many later films.

King Goji is hands down my favorite Showa suit. It's bulky yet mobile, Reptilian yet looks like it possesses a sinister intelligence. By far the most intimidating Showa Goji, IMO. Also, as someone said, those claws are awesome. This is the suit I think of when I hear "Godzilla".
