Nearly ninety percent of Japan was destroyed and became a sea of raging fire. Two superpowers on opposite sides of the island had slowly made their way inland, desolating everything in sight. Their mere presence was enough to melt the pavement and buildings. Now the two had found a meeting point near the center of Japan, Tokyo, the busy capital would soon be the battleground for the two Titans.
Godzilla locked eyes with his foe, his orange eyes burning like lava staring at his crimson adversary, its golden eyes shined like the sun. Godzilla roared into the morning sky, challenging the king of the land. Groudon gazed at his opponent, examining the orange patches that complemented the saurian’s charcoal black hide, flexing his huge claws. Groudon bellowed a mighty roar that shook the ground, as if it was quivering in fear. He accepted the challenge.
Groudon charged at Godzilla and slammed his body into the burning terror. Taking small steps back, the king of the monsters swung his body around and hit the crimson legendary in the head with his muscular tail. Stepping back, they both stared once again and let out their battle cries. Both behemoths raced toward each other, once again crashing into each other with their bulk, both combatants trying to shove and move the other in a contest of strength. Godzilla hoisted Groudon up and slammed him on the ground, the red behemoth groaning in pain, Godzilla kicked his fallen foe, sending the continent Pokémon rolling over buildings and destroying them. Getting to his feet, Groudon fired his flamethrower attack, but it was not very effective. The flames washed harmlessly over Godzilla’s furnace-like body.
Mocking the legendary’s futile attack, Godzilla responded with his atomic ray. Blue energy struck across the chest of Groudon, sparks flying as the beam collided with the continental deity, roaring in pain. Groudon bulked up and used a fire blast that connected with Godzilla, the attack managing to send Godzilla stumbling back a bit. Turning around once again, Godzilla used his long tail try to beat down Groudon. Before the tail could strike, the living continent caught it with his razor sharp teeth, cutting into the tail effortlessly. Howling in pain, Godzilla flicked his tail upward and yanked it out of Groudon’s maw, grunting in pain as he felt the meat on his tail slice open. Groudon fired another fire blast and successfully cooked the exposed tissue. Godzilla screamed in agony and turned to fire his atomic ray. Once again being pushed back by its tremendous power, Groudon skid across the scorched earth, tanking the blast much better than before.
Groudon began to burrow into the earth and left a large crater in the ground. Godzilla, surprised by his opponent's ability to dig, scouted the area for his enemy. Godzilla felt the ground beneath him rumble. Looking down, he noticed the ground beneath him melt more and more rapidly. Not too long after that, a geyser of lava erupted from the ground below. Godzilla quickly moved to avoid falling into the cavity. However, he was unable to escape the ensuing lava shower. Normally, this wouldn't be much of a bother for the monster king, but with his internal temperature rising by the minute, the searing sensation was very uncomfortable. Godzilla heard a rumbling noise behind him, turning his head to see Groudon crawl out of the inferno, roaring at Godzilla. Groudon charged at Godzilla, his right arm glowing pure white with power. Godzilla was struck with Groudon’s hammer arm right square in the chest, feeling his sternum crack due to the attack’s ferocity. Grunting, Godzilla retaliated by scraping his claws across Groudon’s crimson hide, sparks flying with each strike, forcing Groudon back. Godzilla summoned a more purplish atomic ray. Unable to dodge in time, the crimson monster toppled over as he was pushed by the beam into buildings, some burying the legendary beast in rubble.
Burrowing out of the heap of debris, Groudon reared his head and roared into the almost blackened sky. Heaps of debris, as well as small buildings, were enveloped in a purple aura as they were ripped from the ground and hoisted into the sky. Godzilla, baffled by the sight, roared at the levitating objects. Groudon thrust his arm forward, with all the floating objects making a beeline for Godzilla. The king of the monsters screamed in pain as chunks of destroyed and intact buildings alike were forcefully thrown at him with ancient power. Toppling Godzilla over, Groudon trudged closer and bulked up once more. With a booming roar, Groudon performed his earth power attack. The ground erupted with bursts of fire, lava, and jagged spires, injuring the fallen king. Roaring in pain, Godzilla forced himself up and fired a more reddish blast of atomic fire at Groudon.
A direct hit!
Groudon was knocked off his feet, his body steaming. Godzilla fired another ray of atomic energy, the blast now orange and slightly larger too. Tumbling across the ground, Groudon roared in pain as he was sent flying by the more powerful atomic ray. Stopping his assault, Godzilla roared at his opponent, daring him to stand up again. Groudon rose to his feet and roared defiantly at Godzilla, refusing to give in to the so called “king of monsters.”
Trudging forward, Groudon extended his claws and slashed Godzilla's chest. Large gashes slowly healed as Godzilla roared in pain. Biting into Groudon’s shoulder, Godzilla shook his head violently; with small streams of magma-like blood leaving the crimson beast’s wound. Godzilla released his bite as boiling magma melted his teeth and charred his mouth. Roaring in frustration, Godzilla prepared his atomic ray. However, the living continent slashed the irradiated dinosaur’s throat, claws cutting into the throat like a knife slashing a steak. Blood sprayed onto Groudon's head, blending with his red hide. Godzilla, unable to stop the atomic energy buildup, lets it flow through his body.
Seeing spurts of orange energy seeping through the healing throat, Groudon immediately dug into the ground. Godzilla roared into the sky as he discharged an orange nuclear pulse. Tokyo was illuminated in a bright orange flicker of light, breaking through the smoky clouds. The ground around him dispersed from the nuclear titan, any buildings left standing were completely blown away like graham crackers.
Godzilla surveyed his surroundings and looked for Groudon's corpse. Trudging out of the crater he just created, Godzilla sniffed the air, trying to locate his legendary opponent. Godzilla looked forward as he noticed a mound of dirt and rubble form. Groudon's head peered around, scoping out the damage. Revealing his whole form, Groudon roared at Godzilla. The monster king replied with his own, noticing parts of Groudon's crimson skin were burnt. Godzilla grunted in satisfaction, knowing his attack didn't completely miss his target. Panting, Groudon flexed his claws and prepared himself. Roaring intensely, sharp spikes of rock begin jutting out of the ground in front of the legendary beast, heading straight for Godzilla. The nuclear monster was unable to dodge and was impaled by a rock spike in the stomach. Roaring in agony, the king of the monsters feels rock piercing his internal organs!
Clutching the rock, Godzilla ripped the steaming bloody pike from his gut and allowed his smoldering body to try to heal the wound. Groudon roared with joy as he watched the wounded saurian clutch his stomach, shooting a fire blast from his maw. Groudon watched as the fire-type attack slammed into Godzilla, sending him skidding back. Growling at the cursed Pokémon, Godzilla fired an even more powerful atomic ray, no, an atomic spiral ray! Orange swirling energy slammed into Groudon once again, this time the red armor slowly chipped and his grey underside was scorched. An explosion ensued, then engulfed the Legendary’s entire form!
Once the smoke cleared, Groudon was revealed with his arms drooping, huffing as his body contracted in pain. Unable to stand, Groudon collapsed. Godzilla roared in victory, now ready to eradicate the king of the land, Godzilla moved toward him to finish the job. Godzilla stopped in his tracks, noticing a strange aura forming around Groudon. It looked like a large cocoon made of glass was forming around the ruby red creature. Shortly after the ball of glass had formed, a strange symbol forms and shined brightly. Godzilla fired his atomic spiral ray into the orb, but it was unaffected. Suddenly, the orb shattered and Tokyo was covered in utmost brilliance. As the light died down, it revealed Groudon… But different to the creature he was before.
A much larger Groudon stood tall. The black cracks that ran along his red body were now flowing with white hot energy. The spikes running along his body now black like obsidian. Howling into the sky, the power of his “Desolate Land” ability caused the light around him to intensify. Godzilla groaned as his eyes winced; the heat was almost unbearable now. Any buildings remaining slowly melted into heaps of goop. Godzilla stared at his opponent’s new form, the wounds he dealt were now almost entirely gone.
Groudon roared at Godzilla, daring him to make a move. The king of the monsters roared back, snarling at his newly energized opponent, more and more steam emanating from his scalding hot body. Groudon opened his maw and spewed his fire blast, the burning kanji symbol scorched Godzilla, who roared in agony as his skin blistered and shriveled. Godzilla charged forward with amazing speed, closing the gap between him and Groudon. The primal legendary trudged forward and slammed his bulk into Godzilla, the ground around them shook as the two collided.
Groudon slashed Godzilla’s chest, allowing molten blood to seep from the fresh wounds. Godzilla retaliated by raking Groudon’s shining eye. With an agonizing screech, Primal Groudon stepped back and clutched his eye. Godzilla fired a point blank hyper spiral ray at the reverted beast, which sent him crashing to the ground. Groudon slammed his right claw into the dirt and the ground around Godzilla exploded as he was engulfed by an earth attack. Stepping back, the king of the monsters reeled backward to avoid a pitfall. Groudon bulked up and trudged to Godzilla, using his hammer arm attack to strike Godzilla’s head. Godzilla, dazed by the attack, roared and swung around his thick tail, smacking Groudon’s face, barely missing the large spike on the side of his head. Both regained their bearings and stared each other down. Groudon’s body started to glow as Godzilla saw particles of light be absorbed by the fiery monster. Instinctively, the radioactive titan begins to store up energy, orange spines flickering with raw power. Almost immediately, Groudon fired his solar beam attack and struck Godzilla with pure solar energy. Godzilla screamed as the front of his body was almost vaporized, being pushed back hard by the blinding ray. Godzilla fired his hyper spiral ray, even bigger than before, with white hot plasma swirling around the reddish orange ray of atomic fire. Both beams struggled for dominance, with the hyper spiral ray slowly gaining the upper hand. Refusing to give in, Groudon used his “Desolate Land” to absorb tremendous amounts of sunlight. In the blink of an eye, a virtually atomic bomb sized explosion detonated from the beam struggle. A humongous dust storm engulfed the entire city of Tokyo and then some, with a sea of flames that covered the entire once living city.
Groudon’s form rose from the ground and shook off the dirt covering his body. His bright markings illuminated the area round him, scouting the scene before him. Groudon looked on as the sea of flames danced; it was very peaceful to him.
That peace would not last.
In the distance, patches of orange light shined bright in the dust. Slowly, Godzilla’s form became completely visible, his body smoking like a bonfire. Exposed tissue steamed as the king of all monsters marched, as if feeling no longer feeling any pain. Groudon let out a tired roar, but it did little to stop Godzilla’s trek. Godzilla opened his maw and prepared a hyper spiral ray once more in an attempt to alleviate his body of the ever growing energy inside him.
Seeing the air warp around his foe, Groudon swiftly burrowed into the ground to avoid catastrophe. Godzilla spewed atomic energy at the space Groudon once occupied, but managed to carve a mile long ravine into the desolate Tokyo. Godzilla roared, challenging Groudon to show himself. Accepting the challenge, a fire blast struck Godzilla’s back, causing the burning kaiju to groan in pain. Turning to see his opponent, Godzilla grunted and charged at Groudon. The crimson titan held his primal claws up and drew chunks of earth from the ground. Bringing his claws forward, large ground piles slammed into Godzilla, the nuclear dinosaur dropping to one knee as dust obscured his vision. Groudon used his signature move once more, the Precipice Blades, as jagged rocks jut out of the ground and toward Godzilla. Godzilla, seeing the oncoming spikes, fired his hyper spiral ray, energy pouring out with no restraint. Groudon watched as his Precipice Blades were eradicated, but also saw the shining light come straight towards him. Groudon immediately raised a greenish-blue hexagonal shield, to which the atomic energy slammed into it. Protected, Groudon strained to keep up the shield, but noticed cracks forming from the immense pressure. Using all of his might, the living continent refused to be vaporized by that abomination; but alas, even that was not enough to stop Godzilla’s onslaught.
The barrier protecting Groudon shattered and the rest of the beam seared into Groudon, stopping his assault. Godzilla looked at his opponent, pieces of skin flaking from the legendary’s black underside, his crimson helmet cracked along with a piece of his left scarlet tusk broken off. Groudon bellowed in fury as he felt himself on the brink of fainting, staring at the manmade monstrosity in front of him. He needed a way to end this fight and fast while he was still able to maintain his primal form.
Groudon’s eyes widen as he discovered the solution.
Godzilla roared in anticipated victory as he watched his foe struggle to stay conscious. Godzilla marched, preparing to vaporize the so-called god of the land. As the smoking behemoth came closer, Groudon waited for the right moment. Godzilla prepared his hyper spiral ray once more, ready to destroy Groudon and eradicate another portion of Japan with him. Groudon raised his head and roared furiously into the sky as the scorched earth around him trembled. Godzilla stopped and looked at what was transpiring before him; a large crack manifested and its jagged form made its way towards Godzilla. The monster king's eyes widened in shock as the ground beneath him split open. Unable to maneuver fast enough, Godzilla fell deep into the planet’s embrace, an ear splitting cry emanating from his maw as he fell deeper and deeper into the fissure. Groudon clapped his claws together and clamped the earth shut, as if it was never opened.
Roaring into the sky, he breathed heavily, barely surviving that intense battle with Godzilla. The land deity surveyed his surroundings and looked at the damage done. He would have to fix this piece of land and bring it back to its prime condition. Groudon roared once again into the sky, joyful knowing that he was still the king of the land.
Groudon turned back to his normal form and collapsed. First he would rest, then fix the destroyed island of Japan. Perhaps now, no creature would be foolish enough to dare challenge his authority.
