Very sad news to report.
George has passed away before he got to see the movie.
While we couldn't succeed in our goal to get him to see the movie before he went, I want to thank Chris and everyone in the fandom for jumping on and lending their support via social media. I didn't know George personally, but being a fellow Buffalonian and Godzilla fan, the story hit real close to home for me.

That hurts my heart man. At the very least, the community came together and tried its hardest to give this man his final wish before he went on, and that’s a beautiful thing. And, George no longer has to suffer through such a horrible illness, and can be at peace. I don’t know if there’s anymore time left to do this, but I would love for there to be a small tribute to the man in KotM, however small.

There's been some rumblings about making a t-shirt (where all proceeds would go to his family or the Roswell Center where he was staying) and also a charity to send kids at Roswell to the drive-in to see the movie when it comes out. Nothing concrete, but there's ideas out there.
