I've never understood how a struggling comic/manga artist
managed to score himself such a beautiful & capable lady.

Truly the most unbelievable element of Godzilla vs. Gigan...

And he calls her a bitch.

Later she saves their asses with her kung fu. Why isn't she the main character?

You know what would be a cool Godzilla film?

A spy thriller set in the late 70's as 3 attractive Japanese femme fatales try to infiltrate a secret criminal organization
(which is of course an alien race setting up a colony on Earth) who have taken control of several kaiju...Gigan (rebuilt
after Zone Fighter), Megalon, Titanosaurus & Manda.

The ladies track the aliens to their secret island headquarters & send out a "special signal" (much like the one we see/
hear in vs. Gigan) that summons Godzilla, Angurius & Varan to storm the island as an epic, over the top 4 on 3 kaiju
battle begins as our heroines have to take the aliens down for good.

Throw in references to Monster Zero, Terror of MechaGodzilla, Latitude Zero, Dogora & Zone Fighter...Hell...have a Zone
Fighter cameo during the final battle just for fun.

Think Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla 74 meets Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster meets Charlie's Angels meets Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!

Now I'd buy that for a dollar.

I like the ending of this movie. It does the classic Godzilla swimming into the sun raise ending but with a twist, Anguirus get's to share the spotlight. There were two heroic monsters that day.

Best dub ever.
"You're a hard bitch."
"What's that? Can you say that again?"
"Uh no I won't! Not with you being a black belt in karate!"
This is one of the only Godzilla movies I almost always watch dubbed.

Actually it is the 1st time in the franchise where Godzilla does swimming into the raising sun.

I think my favorite part has to be this exchange:

"Godzilla's in trouble!"
"ok"

It really got me when I watched the movie again recently.

Yes, that is Kubota. The younger character is Fumio Sudo.
Tokyo, a smoldering memorial to the unknown, an unknown which at this very moment still prevails and could at any time lash out with its terrible destruction anywhere else in the world.

My feelings on this film have gone up and down and back up again.

As a kid, it was one of my favorites, and it made Gigan and Anguiras two of my favorite monsters.

As I got older, I soured on it due to clear low level production values and the (IMO) near unforgivable sin of using stock footage to pad action sequences.

Now though, I look back on this film with a level of glee. Gigan and Anguiras are the two shining stars, it is Nakajima's final performance as Godzilla, and the Scooby Doo gang of heroes are so unique weird that this movie definitely stands out. There is enough entertaining material to make me put up with the obvious flaws, if not completely forgive them.

The characters are a big draw for me. They're an unusual group to feature as heroes, but it all works. They prove both brave and clever, and generate some funny moments as well.
I've got a good mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it.

Then expect something that's fiercer, more cruel, and deadly than anything that's walked the Earth.

There was like a red gem in the film that I was always so fascinated by as a kid, it reminded me of a fruit gusher. I don't remember what it was for, but it was such a weird fascination at the time

You might be thinking about G vs Megalon. I don't remember any red gems or similar objects in G vs Gigan. However, you do see one of the characters find a red object on the floor in G vs Megalon.

When Ghidorah and Gigan are first summoned/released, they somehow come from exploding gems in space.

Kung-Fu Girlfriend & Hippie Chick are kind of hot...I mean cool...
but everyone else is a dweeb...including the aliens & Ghidorah.

Angurius & Gigan are the real stars of this show.

Agreed. This has one of the best human casts in the franchise, I think. I found everything about this movie entertaining and awesome. Definitely one of my favorites.
