Of the following directors to make a Godzilla movie, pick the best.

The name says it all. If somebody were to make a stand alone Godzilla movie, pick the best.

If I had to pick, either Alex Kurtzman or Michael Bay. I actually enjoyed Bays first 3 transformers films. Dark of the Moon being my favorite, it has an apocalyptic tone, pretty stunning visuals, betrayals, explosions (as to be expected) but they were at least creative. He's not afraid to kill off characters. Idk there's just an atmosphere that you really can't replicate without Bay. Last Knight and Age of Extinction were garbage though. No redeeming factors other than Lockdown in those. With Alex Kurtzman, I personally liked where TASM 2 was going and enjoyed the build up to the Sinister Six, Especially liked Andrew Garfields Spiderman/Peter Parker, he wasn't some old school nerd stereotype, but more like an everyday city teen. His neighborhood reminded me of my old one in Queens, NY.

Alex Kurtzman would likely lore build the whole kaiju film which I wouldn't mind.

I'm sure we know Bay would create a spectacle without *much* substance, even though I do feel like he doesn't get enough credit for some of the emotions in his films, due to being overlooked by all the explosions

Uh....... definitely not Micheal Bay or Roland Emmerich. TASM2 was horrible in so many ways, so keep.Kurtzman away. I haven't seen any of Neil Breen's films so I wouldnt know.

Who would I pick? Although he's not on the list, Sam Raimi would be my choice.

I've double checked all the filmmakers on that list. Kurtzman and Bay are the best you're going to get from the ones he picked. But yeah Sam Raimi could probably do well. so could Nolan, Tarantino, Toro etc.

So with Kurtzman it would be a film that meanders around doing nothing on its own, while with Bay it would be nothing but action porn. Boring garbage vs literal stupid garbage...... I can't decide.

Papa Raimi is our savior.

Tyler Perry or the Wayne’s Brothers.
Yeah, Godzilla wins... sometimes. I mean, he was killed by Dr. Serizawa's patented bubble-bath formula, heartburn, missiles, and poor box office returns, got his ass kicked by a drunken, circus-escaped gorilla, then he was beaten by two newborn worms, yeah some “king”.

Roland Emmermich. I'm one of the very few probably who enjoyed GODZILLA as a fun entertaining fast-paced popcorn flick though I tend to look at the movie as its own giant monster flick or more as a remake to The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.

What terrible options. I had to go with Emmerich, for Christ's sake!

I mean, a Godzilla movie that's a comedy with a predominately black cast would certainly be INTERESTING, so I guess Tyler Perry.

That's what I'm thinking. It doesn't even have to be a comedy. As far as I know he's the only director here that hasn't tried an action or sci-fi movie. That doesn't mean it would be good but at least we can say we wouldn't know based on his previous work. The others have all made those types of films and they've been trash. That's how I'd pitch it if I had to get one of these guys a job helming the next Godzilla anyway.
寺沢. He/him/his, etc.

My top directors would have to be…

Tyler Perry
The Wayne’s Bros.
Paul Feig
Kevin Smith
M. Night Shyamalan
Dennis Dugan
Raja Gosnell

Any of those guys would surely skyrocket the franchise into über fame.

Somehow these would all unironically be better than Joss Whedon

Emmerich already had a stand alone film, he shouldn't be on this list.

ALso where's the none above option? Guess I just won't vote.

Still not a good Godzilla adaptation.

You can like the movie, that's not the problem.

I only picked Emmerich because he has mistakes he could learn from when it comes to Godzilla. The studio interfwrence could be a good thing in this case.

Emmerich would have no choice but to do a generic, by-the-numbers Godzilla film this time, as anything else would get him literally crucified by the fandom. It couldn't really be his movie at all.

Exactly, all the others would have the chance to make a film in their own style. Emmerich's past failings with the property would put extra scrutiny on him. I'd take a generic true Godzilla film over more of G98.

*Looks at the Options for a second*

M. Night Shyamalan!

But seriously...out of those options...Michael Bay.
