Yeah...I read about that...

But I was hoping he would actually play one of the Titans/Kaiju...

I hoping they get Terry Notary and Toby Kebbel back for Kong...
mainly so there is some kind of continuity with his performance.

Wait, Jason Liles is Rodan too? That's pretty awesome. Guy seems to have a talent for this type of thing. Can't wait to see how Ghidorah and Rodan are brought to life through his performances.

I do actually have a complaint for this Ghidorah, now that I think about it. He’s too smooth. I like the rougher looking scales that we saw on designs like GMK, where it looked like Godzilla might cut his hand by throwing a punch.

I was pretty blown away tbh. I agree. They nailed it. I don't see how Kong will be even a minor threat to ANYTHING that can defeat this KG.

Honestly? I actually love how smooth and sleek Ghidorah looks like compared to the other monsters. Really brings forward his otherwordly, extraterrestrial nature imo.

Question: Would anyone mind if this Ghidorah had the potential to grow more necks/heads?

I've always liked that idea.

Like 3 is the normal number for the "species" but if a Ghidorah
lives long enough it will grow a fourth & possibly fifth head.

I am somewhat neutral about it. I do think it makes Ghidorah more unique if he only has the three, and regrowing them can seem a little too Hydra-like.
As for a species thing, well, I do love stories like Godzilla Neo that mash all timelines into one and give use multiples of each Kaiju. But I think a proper Ghidorah should be three headed at most.

I’m pretty excited to see how the GA reacts to Ghidorah. I’ve grown up with this character, so I think I’m relatively desensitized to him - but there is something kind of extra nuts about a kaiju-sized, golden dragon with three heads and two tails. I feel like people won’t be expecting something this out there - in a good way.

I showed the trailer to a co-worker and she said "wow" during the shot of Ghidorah landing at Fenway.
"I vote for outer space, no way these are local boys"
"Hello, Japan? Connect me to Godzilla please"

Did anyone notice that his tail spikes are retractable in the trailer? Imo this is pretty badass. I wonder if he's actively gonna use his tails as weapons Ankylosaurus/Stegosaurus-style.

The more I look at the new design, the more I think they absolutely nailed him. Definitely a worthy reimagining of the king of terror :)

That's actually a great way to think about this film...

I mean WE all know these kaiju...but the GA...

I hope they love Ghidorah, Rodan & Mothra.

Well...the original design is iconic in its own right...
we now simply get to see it slight updated & executed
with cutting edge technology.

Its like Dougherty KNEW not to mess with these kaiju...
apart from Mothra who lets face it...needed an update...
especially after the M.U.T.Os set the bar for what an
insectoid kaiju would be in this universe.

Plus...from the looks of the trailer...he may have
created a couple of his own kaiju...& well...that's
living the dream isn't it?

(FYI: I'm spoiler free for the film apart from the
trailers & released images)

Are his blades actually retractable? I hear the sound but in that dark shot it's hard to tell

Actually at one point in Trailer #2 you can see a small wound above Godzilla's right eye. Looks as if could have easily been done by Ghidorah's club tail straight to the head.

I didn't see it at first too, but in the HD vimeo version you can see that his tail-blades slightly rise up when the sound is heard. Very easy to miss though.

That's possible. Yeah, it does look like it could have been inflicted by his tail (his claws would probably do a lot more damage than that lol). I do recall that Dougherty retweeted something about a research on Ankylosaurids and their defense mechanism- a hint perhaps?
It could be a pretty cool detail imo.

It would be pretty dope to see Ghidorah straight up dig his tails into Godzilla's skin and just like pull him around.

I can't believe King Ghidorah destroys Dunkin Donuts, that was the scariest thing I saw in the trailer.
I mean damn, did a Dunkin Donuts employee piss on Micheal Dougherty's donuts and then pour cough syrup on them? Is that where this evil anger came from?

At least he didn't stop at a Krispy Kreme for some actual donuts...

*Looks Around*

So...did anyone else here watch that Power Rangers film?

*Thinks*

Although a giant Kaiju fueled by a desire for sugar would
be different...although they maybe a little close to Buu
from Dragonball Z///

I mean it's Power Rangers. If they're gonna do product placement they may as well be silly about it.

Also I love that movie.

Oh I agree...I didn't mind the product placement...
it actually made me laugh...in a good way...& I
actually enjoyed the film as well.

Elizabeth Banks was SO GOOD as Rita Repulsa.

I hope they get around to making a sequel.
