Wait what?

You ever get that feeling of deja vu?

I mentioned this pre outage but I'll summarize.

- Jonas and Mac become cool 60 year olds who does crazy awesome stunts despite their age for no reason except an obvious mid-life crisis on the author's part.
- Multiple times, sex is brought up or happens and Jonas and his wife Terry, despite having a "happy" marriage, have multiple times where they consider cheating.
- A PETA group and Dubai buisness men are portrayed as backwards idiots that die grusome deaths after trying to expolit The Megs in the fourth novel.
- While it's still enjoyable, The Megs and the other sea monsters Alten introduces aren't treated as powerful monsters cloaked in suspense but instead as 30% generic threat, 20% intentional so bad, it's good monsters (Ever wanted to see a Meg attack a baseball game?), and 50% excuse for AWASUM characters to be AWASOMEU and kill in AWAWASUM ways.

TLDR: Please don't 1 to 1 adapt the sequels Warner Brothers.

Sounds awful.

Holy poop.

It's hard to tell what I'm happier about - seeing this thread still being alive and kicking after three or so years, still getting bumps until last month, or the movie itself being that much of an unexpected success. So glad to see Steve being a pop-culture thing once again and The Loch getting some serious press.

I'm really 50/50 on the movie, myself. The first half is a great Meg adaptation, the second one borders the so-bad-it's-good-category, and it constantly made me wish I was watching Piranha 3D instead, but it is a decent flick, much better than what the trailer would have you believe, and on shark movie waters - JAWS is my favorite film of all time, mind - that's a rare sight nowadays.

When's the BD out again?
goblin shark (plural goblin sharks) [ˈgɒblɪn shärk'], noun:
1. a shark with a long pointed obstruction from forehead and growing to 3.8 meters in length; Mitsukurina owstoni.
2. not a reference to Guiron.

Just finished watching this.

It's good. Keeps the general tone of the books and keeps it interesting what with
Spoiler:
the POTM style twist and sharks not being complete murder monsters

Honestly, Rampage is probably still the best "action movie/monster movie" but this was nice.

I'm hoping in the sequel, they don't go nuts and start adding millions of other prehistoric animals. I kind of hope they stay close to the books and mostly focus on the Megalodon (hopefully plural instead of "you killed one but there's another") while adding one other threat (maybe the Kronosaurus? or something that lived alongside the Megs like Purussaurus or Livytan?) for the sequel and then if the sequel does well, go nuts with a Hell's Aquarium in the inevitable third one.

Well what I want most is a likeable cast again. I mean if they weren't likeable it would have been a big detriment for the film. If another Meg comes in hopefully it is more like that scary albino design.

I honestly can't believe this film has done so well

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever even consider the idea that this film would do so well

Yeah I had zero excitement for it then the first trailer came out and I thought 'oh this looks kinda fun.' I guess the same happened for Rampage. Shark movies are hard for me to get excited for.

Just realized they will have a quandary when the sequel comes out. The Megalodon named Angel was supposed to be unique for it's immense size of 75ft. But this movie already has the shark at that size. I guess they might punch up Angel to be even bigger than that.

I mean, this movie clearly didn't give a crap when it came to changing things from the book, so...

Which was a pretty big disappointment for me.

Its funny because whenever I think of this film...all I can say is...

The book series is fun...at least the 2 I have read so far.

Just watched The Meg yet again. Anyone notice with the ending that there is a substantially large amount of sharks including Great Whites near the busy beach area?.

That's your main issue with the film?
