Huh. Considering the number of TK members that have already been banned from TKT, I can't see you getting much traffic from us...

They were banned for good reason and they did it to themselves. I've already gotten a fair amount of traffic just from these forums.

If I recall correctly you guys have an awfully itchy trigger finger when it comes to banning people, correct?

It boils down to simple courtesy. If you smart off to a mod/admin then we really have no use for you. If you are a flame war starter, we have no use for you. You can disagree with anyone and have your own opinion, but if you're a caustic, inarticulate asshat about it then we have no use for you. If you say you are a trained ninja who has to have sex once an hour or he'll die and claims to own illegal firearms and get others in your forum trolling acting troupe to join in on your insanity, we have no use for you. We have a two strike policy for most people.

That being said, as we are in the fourth incarnation of our forums, even banned members were allowed to join the forums again with a clean slate. However, a good half of those members did the EXACT same thing that got them banned in the first place. My favorite had to be the guy who threatened to kill me and thought I wouldn't turn his IP into the police, then claimed he was seeing a psychologist for his mental disorder when he found out how serious I was.

Use the Wil Wheaton rule: Don't Be A Dick. It should be common knowledge and courtesy, but this is Teh Interwebs.

I remember I was a member for a brief period on the forums, I think I joined right as you were moving to a new server and everyone got their post count wiped or something, I think it was from it's 1st to 2nd "incarnation" as you put it. Everyone seemed nice, but I just couldn't handle how busy it was in terms of posts. And to be honest, I got a little tired of everyone getting on their knees for you as soon as you posted a comic, whether it was funny or not.

Trust me, those days are long since gone, and long as the site is in the tooth. The forums honestly are a very nice place, even with all the Pony Worship. Plus I'm a lot less impressed with my own BS and I realize TKT for what it's worth, mindless entertainment with as much value as you put into it. I wish I had this mentality when I started out instead of the asshattery I engaged in.

Shin-Goji, I can relate, I just recently (within the last year) have gotten my GF into Godzilla and now here we are tonight preparing snacks and other goodies (Cough*THONGS*Cough) to watch a Godzilla marathon tonight!

It feels good to be able to talk to someone in person about something you love.

No, I wouldn't say that at all. It's different. That's it. And if the nonsense you spew here is any indication of how you are going to act on my forums, then you're not going to last very long at all. So behave yourself. I came to these forums because I saw a good community of Godzilla fans.

Not that I'm not the first person to say TK is far too lighthanded on the banhammer, but I would hardly say one disagreement with SonGo (I think it was him anyhow) merited my banning. That being said, it's not my site and not my place to say who gets banned for what.

Regardless, a lot has calmed down since then, and there is a clean slate for all of the formerly banned, even those I classified as "unforgivable" have had a chance to return.
