Life has a habit of doing that. Still really looking forward to this- don't give up! :) Hope things calm down, and that the restructuring gives you a little more breathing-room, time-wise.

Here's my DailyMotion playlist, which is now up to five workprint clips: Yahatu Maru Wreck, Ihama Attack, Godzilla Arrives, The Lure Test, and The Super X. Let me know what you think!

I'm about to post a thread in the Heisei forum on this as well, but I figured I'd try here first.

As far as the Christopher Young music cues from Def-Con 4 that were used in 1985, I have all but one that I need. The one I am missing is the track that plays over Okumura's near-death experience during the helicopter evacuation. As far as I've been able to research, it is a track from Def-Con 4, but it isn't in the soundtrack release, and I only found one page a while ago that said the track was unreleased, and I can't find that page anymore.

Is this true? Does this piece of music pretty much only exist in the Godzilla 1985 mono sound mix? I hope not, because if that's the case, I'm not sure I'll be able to use it as I planned. :(

Any help is appreciated.

Hey everyone, still working on it! I just finished the Super X battle, so I'm on the home stretch of the assembly. I would be further along, but work and life continue to beat me up. Those meanies.

I have transferred all of my Resurrection blog posts and videos to my Movie Maestro blog, I felt that would be a better site for it since Temporal Productions is going to be my professional website. From now on, everything fan edits will be hosted there.

In the meantime, I have another video for you! The workprint of Godzilla's revival, with some more music added by mwa:

Back again with another update, but I promise this is a big one!

I have finished the assembly of the entire edit, and all but finalized my audio mix: the film runs approximately 113 minutes, sans fan edit credits which will be finished last. Work I still have to do before Resurrection is finished: I still have to replace some shots with the textless versions from Servanov's EOST (used with his permission), adding my own hard-coded text, color grading and grain addition, and making the removable subtitles. In short, it will still be awhile before I am finished, but the final cut has finally taken shape, and I couldn't be happier with it!

That being said, I still have need of constructive criticism before I get too deep into the "post-production." With that stated, who would like to be my beta viewers? I would be sending to you special reels of important sections of the film, for any who choose to help to evaluate and give me any feedback on the cut, its flow, and what may not work. I will not be showing anyone the whole film yet, I kinda want to save the completed product for the masses. Anyone who's interested in previewing the work as beta viewers, please shoot me a PM or reply here and I'll add you the list once I have the files rendered (which should be sometime this weekend).

Hey everyone! Sorry for being so quiet, I have been quite the busy bee. I am now halfway done with the color correction and grading, and the edit is looking gorgeous! I have also made a few tweaks based on the beta viewers' and their criticisms.

And there's a new blog update: https://themoviemaestroblog.wordpress.c ... nate-cuts/

Another update! I have completed and rendered my first encode, the smaller MP4 version will be about 13GB, and it looks great! I have made some additional changes to correct a few minor mistakes, and it is now ready to be rendered again for the final MP4 and MKV versions, at which time I'll be submitting the edit on fanedit.org for approval.

And here's another post on my main blog:

Hey everyone! The project is still ongoing, I apologize for the null updates. Remember when i said life was kicking my butt? Well, it dealt me a huge blow recently, one from which I'm still emotionally recovering. This project has almost been a form of therapy though, so I'm still pushing ahead!

I'm in the middle of subtitle creation right now, so it's on the home stretch!

This is a really awesome project. The Godzilla 1984/85 Supercut is something I'd definitely be interested in seeing.

Despite the Japanese version being superior, there are some legit awesome moments with Raymond Burr, especially his monologue to close the film.

Hey hey everyone!

Subtitles are done! My next step is recording an editor's audio commentary (which I was going to do today, but the frakking rain won't let up, and I won't settle for anything less than the best listening experience my voice can possibly deliver), and then I'll be combining the elements on the MKV version. After that, I'll be submitting the edit to fanedit.org, as I'd love to get it into the database there.

Depending on how long that takes, it will be either some time this month or next that Godzilla: Resurrection will be available to view online. I just want to say, thank you so much to everyone who has helped out and supported on this project. I can't wait to do another one!

Hey y'all! I'm pretty much done, the .mkv has been muxed together, I'm going to be test-viewing it tonight or tomorrow. I'm aiming for a December 15 live date, considering that was the original release of The Return of Godzilla.

In the meantime, I'm thinking of spicing up my release poster with a new logo. What do you guys think, which one do you like more?

Hooray! Looking forward to it!

Both logos have their pros. I think I favor the one that's straight-on, slightly, as it's a bit cleaner; but either one is good!

The second one for me - it recalls the title card in my memory for Godzilla 1985.

By the way, just discovering this, this sounds awesome, what a perfect idea! Can’t wait to see it! This will be my first ever fan edit of a goji film. :D

My test viewing was great! I'm very proud of this edit. I do have to give the subtitles one more pass to correct some mistakes, but for now, I'm keeping my promise for the December 15 release date!

Thank you everyone for all your help and feedback on this project, I truly couldn't have done it without you!

Until that day, have a new poster:
