I don't know about the adopted crap, but I just call Minya his son and leave it at that. Who gives a rat's ass about where it came from?

^It's fun to speculate, IMO.

Wow, weak insult. Didn't even make sense.
I'll explain it to you in a few years.

I've always just kind of assumed he just laid it at one point. Idk I don't speculate when there isn't much to speculate about.

Why would you assume a "he" laid an egg?

He's a-sexual, maybe? He (or Zilla) laid eggs in GODZILLA, so why not in SoG?

That's a completely different Godzilla? And I don't understand how Godzilla "adopting" is speculation; we're not stretching what we see on screen, Godzilla shows up on an Island thousands of miles away from where we've seen him since answering a call for help from a vaguely Godzilla-like creature still in an egg.

TokyoVigilante wrote:No they don't. Solgell Island is near South America and Minya only vaguely resembles Godzilla, who spent the movie neglecting his apparent "spawn"

The simplest explanation is just Godzilla found Minya and became his (initially) unwilling parent.

This makes the most sense.. yet I'm sure people will continue to come up with more theories/speculat that don't make any damn sense, and aren't rooted in anything we can see on screen. The film makes it pretty clear that Godzilla adopted Minya. He was a similar (or the same) dinosaur that Godzilla was, and was then exposed to radiation, hence why he's a "little" Godzilla. What's so hard to grasp about that?

I'll gladly eat crow if it doesn't turn out that way....but at this point it feels painfully obvious, as it has for months.

Don't hurt your dingleberries patting yourself on the back over that one.

Isn't also plausible that Godzilla's sperm was defective because of the radiation, thus producing a stunted offspring? Certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

@ TokyoVigilante: Eh...I guess so. I'll just go with what I've always thought though. (no offense to you, at all TV.)

Your thinking way too much into this.
The filmmakers didn't think that hard about it, so why should you?

You would have to be blind to not realize that no Godzilla suit ever has had genitalia built onto it.

Really? I just assumed he was not well endowed and much of his destructive rampages were a result of his frustration at being "small".......
