Yeah real shame, I'd love to see Del Toro an his team return to do PR3.
At least we still have the Monsterverse. And who knows if we're lucky maybe we'll get a few comics

The movie is at 230m right now so far from the 350 number it needs to break even or profit. I don't know how blue ray sales work on a film but if they could scale the budget back to maybe 100-130m and get GDT back a Pac Rim 3 might not be 100% off the table.

If a third is a possibility it needs to be Del Toro. I don't want to see the Anteverse watered down by any other director.

Maybe a cartoon show would work.
This x10. Preferabbly something on either Cartoon Network or Adult Swim. I'd give it to Disney but I fear to trust them. And Netflix would probably make it 3-D which is the last route I want.

Cartoon Network needs to reconnect with its old roots before I trust it with anything creative.

Dang I already want to see Uprising again. Though I don't know if I ever want to watch the two PRs back to back. Might be too jarring.

Eh cartoon Network has heights. Adventure Time. Ben 10(not the new one). Regular Show. Steven Universe. And Adult Swim had a couple of great things. We could get something along to the Samurai Jack's final season. However Can't cons do outweigh the pros. Disney on the other hand excells with action, as show by they're various history with not only Marvel series but stuff like Max Steel, Star vsTFoE, and Gravity Falls. I'd give them a bigger chance now that I'm laying it out. Nick is completely unreliable.

A 3rd isn't happening. For a 3rd film to be set in the Anteverse, it would most likely cost a ton of money.

Absolutely. I doubt the likelyness of a third but I'll never count it completely out. Especially considering the hell PR2 went through and still got out.

Actually, going to the Amteverse would be a dumb idea. Too many giant monsters in there!

True but people that didn't think there were enough kaiju in the second movie can get that fixed.

Anyway finished the novelization and I think it was a bit more solid than the one for the first movie's. I remember the fights seemed more vague, this one I'd think the writer had a lot more details shown to them. There is one thing in the final battle in the book I wish was in the movie. Bracer Phoenix tried shooting the Mega Kaiju with the Vortex Guns, not quite working. One pilots suggests to Vik to shoot a spiral off a building. She does and the Jaeger catches the spire and uses it to ram out another one of the secondary brains. The Mega Kaiju noticeably slows with each brain lose so it makes Bracer and Saber seem a little more important to the battle since time was bought.

Super dumb now that you point it out. They'd need a squadron of super prepped Jaegers. Because there's no way they go into that universe and there aren't an army of Mega-Kaiju waiting on the other side.

I can't wait for the HISHE of Uprising....... it's gonna get torn apart. It's guaranteed that probably one of the new Godzillas will appear.

The one advantage that jeagers would have in the anteverse would be lack of care for the environment: they could go ham.

Hell they could make two types. Defenders who stay in our world, and assault who are given things like MOAB styled weapons that they normally couldn't use in our world due to collateral damage.

In all honesty, I'd love to see full blown war between our world and the Anteverse. Multiple breaches open across the Pacific, giant organic kaiju "shatterdomes" come through housing mutiple kaiju, all CAT 5/Mega class. Total war, numerous battles across dozens of cities. Flying kaiju carpet bombing cities with acid, etc.

Y'know, a Pacific Rim-Godzilla crossover could be the one thing to rejuvenate the franchise.

Got my Uprising artbook today!
Also making some progress in Pacific Rim Ascension. Turns out, at least in this novel, Vik is actually the daughter of Cherno Alpha's pilots. I remember briefly wondering that.
