Scrapped Monster: Deep Sea Life

Post by Godzillian »

So this guy was the original enemy that Godzilla was going to die fighting. The film "Godzilla vs Deep Sea Life", would have had this new monster come from the bottom of the sea and battle Godzilla. G-force would then use an oxygen destroyer to kill both monsters while they fought underwater.

Has more than a passing resemblance to Bagan.

Reminds me more of Rodan in the face. The chest is a little too huge for my liking, but it's still interesting for a rough sketch. I could see how this monster would push Godzilla to the brink in an underwater battle.

Looks like a Plesiosaurus-Godzilla hybrid. Cool idea. I would actually prefer this scenario because it sounds less on the nose than GvsD.

I wish this could've been used for at least one of the millennium films.

I like the design for the monster. It's like a beefed up version of Titanosaurus.
I've got a good mind to join a club and beat you over the head with it.

Then expect something that's fiercer, more cruel, and deadly than anything that's walked the Earth.

Awesome design, but probably wouldn't have liked it being the last monster the Heisei Godzilla fought.

I like it being a quadruped with what appears to be fur and a long neck. It's certainly distinct from some of the other generic Dino monsters. Unlike Destroyah, Babuoi, Ghost Godzilla or even Bagan doesn't look like something that would really fit for a film featuring the death of Godzilla.

Awesome design. Would have loved to see it in a film.
My most wanted fight ever is Discord vs Bobobo-bo bo-bobo.
Godzilla has a regen like Wolverine, a skin like Luke Cage, a hero aura like Captain America, a strength like Hulk, an unstoppability like Juggernaut, an immortality like Deadpool.

There's a 'God' in Godzilla for a reason...

Exactly what I thought. Although, the face reminds me of something from Bob Eggleton's BOOK OF SEA MONSTERS. This dude unfortunately while resembles a more dinosaurian kaiju, like some of the earlier Showa beasties, doesn't seem like he'd measure up to the rest of Heisei menagerie. I could actually see the bloke showing up in the Millenium era, or even being a kaiju that would end up being jobbed out to a bigger, nastier monster. Or being dealt with by a new weapon.

I wish the name could have been changed. Deep Sea Life just makes me think of aquatic monsters that Godzilla has to face off all at once. Like Ebirah, Gezora, Maguma, Etc..

Not really a fan of this design. And the name does make me think of a school or a pod instead of a singular beastie,

The name was more than likely just a placeholder. Its design would've definitely changed had the pitch been considered, too.

Neat concept but I for one am glad that Deep Sea Life had no life and was replaced by Destoroyah. I could see him fitting into a G movie somewhere but as G's final foe? Eh-eh.

He looks too goofy to be Godzilla's final opponent.
