I'm speechless. He accomplished so much during his lifetime, and it's only fair of me to pay my respects. I really wish I could have met him when he was still around, but he's given me a lifetime of joy and entertainment. Bless that man's soul.

RIP Haruo. I...never really thought that this day would come, honestly. I mean, I know it would happen, but at the same time didn't. It's...kinda hard to explain, but hopefully it'll be understood. It's like believing that it won't be something you'll experience in your lifetime. Anyways, this is truly a sad day for all fans of kaiju, his friends, and his family, but he'll always be with us through the memories we made with him and the movies he starred in.

Acting is no easy task. Acting through a massive suit is even harder. What's truly amazing is that he created a memorable and believable character despite being in a heavy rubber suit. It's no stretch to say that he was essential to creation and lasting appeal of not just Godzilla, but several golden age monsters.

Rest in peace. Haruo Nakajima. Truly one of a kind.
I can't believe that Godzilla was the only surviving member of its species, but if we continue conducting nuclear tests, it's possible that another Godzilla might appear somewhere in the world again.

Has Toho done anything in memory of Mr. Nakajima?

Im glad he's getting the respect and honor he deserves. Im so depressed now, but I know he lived a good life. It feels like in a way Godzilla has died.

The whole situation is still processing, so I'm still a little lost for words. But I'm more than happy knowing that such an amazing person existed. God bless you, Haruo Nakajima.

He will always be the king of suit acting. It's also great that he's finally re-united with his dear friend Eiji Tsuburaya too.

Rest in peace, Haruo Nakajima. Without you, Godzilla would not have been the same.

I saw the news this morning, and for a moment I felt almost like I couldn't breathe.
I didn't know who Nakajima was as a kid, but for all the work he did as Godzilla during the franchise's golden age, he was absolutely one of my childhood heroes. How I wish I had been able to meet him; the world just doesn't feel the same now.

I've always admired him for his tenacity and endurance when he worked in the suit, and for his kindness and love for what he helped create afterward. I will forever regret that I never got the chance to meet him. Rest in peace, Haruo.

Would (and should) Monster Planet be dedicated to him?
